Ichiban Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Tampa

First time visiting was for dinner. Overall, give it a try If your curious. Price is affordable, food is pretty, service is currently a little slow but still pleasant, but the food just wasn’t for our taste.

Parking was nice and open, easy in and easy out. The inside is a good use of space and is very clean and neat. I believe the restaurant is fairly new as there was only one server on staff and she seemed to be familiarizing herself with the menu still. She was very pleasant and did her best though. You will need to ask about the types of Ramen they serve, as that is not yet listed on the menu. The menus they currently have are temporary, as the server let us know. I believe the type of ramen is Shio Ramen as there is corn in it. I got the chicken ramen & it just wasn’t my style (not pictured). This place is close to our house and we happened to notice it had recently opened while driving by, and decided to give it a try, especially since it had all 5 star reviews so far. Well, those must have come friends and family, because this restaurant is quite far from 5 stars.

First of all, the name has “Sushi and Ramen” in it, but there’s no ramen on the menu.

The sushi doesn’t even try to be anything but mediocre - the majority of the rolls have fake krab - and all of the sashimi/chirashi options include escolar, which is a garbage fish known to cause oily diarrhea.

One of my rolls had tempura shrimp in it, but it was soft and mushy, even the pieces on the end sticking out of the rice; so it clearly wasn’t fried correctly. The other roll I got was immediately forgettable. My girlfriend got two rolls but only ate 1 or 2 pieces of each.

You need to try this restaurant! I had dinner with my family and we all had nothing but good things to say. The service was excellent and food was delicious. We had a little bit of everything. The crab rangoons had a generous portion of cream cheese filling. The dumplings were crispy and savory. The beef ramen was delicious and definitely a shareable size. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and full of flavor. The building is small but the ambience is spot on. Definitely a great spot for date night. Would highly recommend and will definitely...
