Petra Mediterranean Restaurant — Restaurant in Tampa

Horrible service . You got to stalk or yell for the waitress to get you service. I ordered appetizer sampler (supposed to come with baba ghano, tahini, hummus ) as the 3 sauces but instead got baba ghano (that tasted awesome !), tahini, and labna. I asked the waitress and she said the chef threw the labna in...which I am not a fan of, but umm..what happened to the hummus?

Server also never came around to refill drinks

Then a $8 gratuity was added to bill (despite being a party of 2) which they said was their "New policy." As a manager of a company with 1,400 location which prides myself in customer service, I found their service horrible, food mediocre (just the baba ghano was good ), but above all, you cannot add hidden charges to customers bills and say it's a policy. I've eaten at many high end restaurants with mandatory tip, which was fine because their service was phenomenal! But if you're policy was to change, it should be documented! Their customer service is equivocal to how restaurants are ran in a self service deli (no hostess, seat yourself, find or call someone for help) however their expectations of tips is that of a fully functional dine in restaurant. I would brushen up on your customer service skills!

The waitress was not attentive to our table of two. Once we ordered our food, she came back 3 minutes later to inform us that an hour an advance is needed if you want food from the grill. The majority of their plates are grilled food. The waitress also took about 10 minutes to bring back menus as we needed to reorder. She also failed to bring us plates and utensils once our appetizer and entree arrived because she started to attend a table of 10. We proceeded to remind her of our needs and it took two other waiters to assist. We also had missing items for our appetizer which we had to remind her of. We then asked for to go boxes and she ignored our request. In the mean time she had checked out two to go customers, cleaned the hallway floor, and brought food out to the table of 10. I then decided to walk to the to go check out area to pay for my plates and request again the to go boxes. Her excuse was that it was busy, which I understand. However, the table of 10 recieved their appetizers in 5 minutes from when they ordered.. while it took 40 minutes for us a table of two to get our 1 entree and 1 appetizer at the same time. Mind you we were seated way before the table of 10. Our time here felt like we were being...

So service is always slow here but this was sooooo bad! When I first sat down, I killed a small spider. No bad dining experience is complete without bugs. Later my friend killed another. A spider came down behind me at the end. Now the food was great!! But it took 8-10 minutes to get even get our drink order and then 12 more minutes to get our drinks. We were about to leave and my hot tea finally came but my friend's diet coke never came he actually had to go to the bar and get it HIMSELF!!!! After that, we did get checked on ONCE. His order was incorrect, and of course arrived simultaneously with our appetizers. (Appetizers are because you are HUNGRY!!! ). We have never before actually thought about walking out of a place because people work for a living. My friend thought it would be a fun game to put the phone stop watch on and actually time how long it took her to even look ocer let alone bring our check. The look over never happend and the check never came. We were going to wait ten minutes and no longer but then a spider was on it's way to my head so we left. We got there at 7:20pm, and left at 8:35pm!!!!! With no check!!!! And a drink he had to get...
