I used to be a big fan of Slice Pizzeria but my recent experiences have been incredibly disappointing. Over the past few years, this place has gone downhill fast. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt three times, but each attempt resulted in the wrong order. My most recent frustration involved ordering CHEESE pizza rolls—specifically requesting NO pepperoni. Despite my clear instructions, my order came with pepperoni twice through DoorDash. I thought maybe it was just a mix-up when ordering through a 3rd party. So I thought I would try calling in the order instead and specifically told them at least twice that I wanted CHEESE pizza rolls, NO pepperoni... once I got back to my truck (thinking there's no way they messed it up AGAIN), they had pepperoni!! To make matters worse, when I called to address the issue with my order (he already locked the front door), I could hear the employee inside ignoring my calls while continuing with closing duties, even though it was still 30-45 minutes before closing time. It felt like my concerns were completely disregarded and it was extremely disrespectful and rude. In summary, Slice Pizzeria has lost its touch. The consistent mistakes, poor customer service, and lack of accountability have made me decide to take my business elsewhere. I hope they can turn things around, but for now, I can't recommend this place based on my recent experiences. I doubt I'll give them a 4th try anytime soon.

checked out this pizza joint cuz a. it's local, b. it's cheap, (oh and c. i'm really tryna to break up with my current pricey chain pizza provider that may or may not involve a tent-like object...) we had a coupon too so it was extremely affordable. delivery was timely. i've definitely had better pizza. but? wasn't expecting a ton considering i operate, when it comes to food and other things i enjoy, knowing 'you get what you pay for'. we got a hawaiian and a create your own with pepperoni and black olives along with their 'pokey stix', which is practically just cheesy bread. i didn't try the one with black olives but, hawaiian pizza is my thing. refer to previous comment about the pizza...maybe finished 1 piece. so, naturally still hungry, i was psyched about the pokey stix, which were, to my delight, yummy! in my opinion, one of the best parts of any cheesy bread/breadstick/edible well-seasoned crust situation is the dipping sauces. their marinara had no flavor, no zip, nada. i rooted through my friend's fridge and found an open jar of good quality store bought pasta sauce and still couldn't redeem it. but, speaking to the price point, got another coupon in the mail today and apparently they've added a 'new kids play area'....something to consider for those with kiddos!!

So I have been ordering from Slice for a while now. Recently, it has gone downhill. Tonight I ordered two pizzas, one with bacon and jalapeños in the other one was extra cheese and steak. So I ordered the food at 5:30 and long story short I end up getting it around 730. we called and they explained that one of their delivery drivers quit in the middle of their shift. Fine, then call your customers and let them know. I ended up talking to one of the managers and he said that he would bring it over and I explained to him that I did not want cold food. he exclaimed that it would not be cold. Needless to say it was room temperature at best and the fries that I got for six dollars were worth about a nickel at the ballpark. I will not be going to Slice for a while now until they step their game up. The pizza does not even look the same or taste good. If you zoom on the picture of the steak pizza, He used Steak-ums And I would take that to the bank. I really hope the owner owner steps up and brings it back to how it used to be. If not, I’m out there’s plenty of other pizzerias.

Too bad I can't give it zero stars. Let me start off by saying that I visited those pizzeria twice if not three times a month during football season. My experience had been great up until a few months ago. On this particular day, I placed my order as usual. The guy with the ponytail that took my order happened to have had an attitude that day. Well, with his attitude being not so pleasant, he got my order wrong. When the food was brought to the booth I was sitting at, I shared with another guy that my order was wrong. I walked to the counter and spoke with the guy that took my order. Well, he proceeded to get loud and argue. I told him he should not be trying to argue with the costumers. I asked him to just cancel my order and just charge me for the beverage that my then 2 year old had drank and just give me back my money. He did. I asked what time the owner would be in so that I could speak to him. He refused to give me the information. I said ok and left. I returned about 1 month and a half later. He wasn't working and business was as usual...pleasant. Yesterday my now 3 year old asked for a slice of pizza so I decided to visit Slice Pizza. I walked in the door and guess who was waiting to take my order, that's right, the guy with the ponytail. I asked him, "weren't you the one that was rude to me last time I visited". He said, "yes and now what". I looked at him and said, "excuse me". I wasn't sure I heard him correctly. He repeated himself and I asked him who he was speaking to like that. This is when it went downhill! He said, "I'm talking to you, black b!t@h"! I said, "no you're not"! He began to scream, "yes the fk I am"! I asked for the manager and guess what...he said he was it. He then asked if I was going to order. I told him "no" and I wanted the owner's name and number. He proceeded to continue to use profanity and scream at me. I told him he needed to watch his mouth in front of my daughter. He had the audacity to say to my daughter, "this won't be the last time sweetie". He claimed he was calling the police but was very hesitant (he eventually called). To really show his ignorance, he called me a "professional b*h". I told him he was a coward and that he will not make it past being a manager at a pizza joint. He then added that the owner told him to "kick me out". If this is true, the owner is not as pleasant of a guy as I thought he was. It seemed that the behavior he displayed in front of the other workers was nothing unusual because they didn't move, interject, or try to get him to come to his senses. It's sad that this "coward" is a manager at any establishment. Safe to say that my money will not be spent here anymore. I will be certain to pass the...

Update (10/26/23): They're back! The old owners and management have been brought back and have returned Slice to its former glory!

Quality ingredients, expert tradecraft, and actually giving a damn about your customers is what sets a restaurant apart from the others. I can honestly say that Slice now checks all of those boxes. I highly, highly recommend giving them a try and seeing the night & day difference for yourself.

Best part of it all is that, even after not seeing him for 5+ months, Tony immediately remembered me and my usual order. Never had that "Cheers" feeling at a place until now.

Old Update (Now outdated) (7/8/23): Unfortunately, I have to lower my rating of Slice. It seems that they were bought out and have entirely new management who have completely changed their pizza recipe. The new pizza is frankly just not good. It's too thin despite not being a thin crust, with minimal sauce & toppings. I've had worse, but honestly would prefer chain pizza instead.

This change is super disappointing as now there are no good (in my opinion) small-business pizza shops in the lower South Tampa area.

Original review (Now applicable after latest update): Hands-down the best pizza place in South Tampa.

There are few things better than a good slice of pizza. I'll eat just about any pizza, however, my standards for what defines "good pizza" are pretty high. Slice is one of the few places I've ever been to which has made consistently good pizza. The portions, toppings, cheese, dough, and bake are always right on the money for my tastes.

The manager, Tony, has always been friendly and eager to help out with all customers who have come in. I've personally seen him remake orders and comp customers for things not being up to his standards. He has sought out feedback and opinions from customers on new products they were testing or even the quality of specific ingredients. I can't recall ever seeing manager so invested in making the customer feel involved and appreciated.

Bottom line: if you're looking for some good pizza in South Tampa,...
