Why ? It has no msg and you can tell the flavor is just from fresh spices and quality meat/bones itself. I recommend mixing the hoisin and siracha on the side and slowly spoon the mixture accordingly on to every other bite of the noodles and meat so you won’t cloud the soup till you finish the last drop of it. Plus I don’t feel stuffed or lethargic after like how I usually feel after finishing a bowl of pho in other restaurant.
Banh Mi is a must. I had it to go coz after the pho I feel super nourished and I wanna enjoy the Banh mi as a snack later on. The house mixed Vietnamese mayo and the homemade daikon compliments the Xa Xiu/ Charxiu/ barbecue pork so well. Pork was thinly sliced and it has a good ratio of fat to lean meat. Probably the best Banh Mi I’ve had. And they have the tofu and avocado vegetarian option.
I shared a lot of food in this post because I went two days in a row during my short stay in Tampa.
The pork chop over rice right has the perfect char and the flavor is similar to what you get from mom’s cooking. Warm and hearty! It was sold out the first day I went….

Read moreI was craving pho so I did a quick Google search and narrowed it down to three spots. I decided on Viet Haus because it’s family-owned and the pho had great reviews. I’m glad I trusted my gut because the beef pho was exactly what I needed! For appetizer, I had the tofu summer roll and the shrimp summer roll - both really good and served with (an optional) peanut sauce. Each order comes with two rolls. Even though I was full by the 5th spoonful of pho, I kept eating because of the tasty broth. I’m happy I found this spot and you will, too!
Other pluses: The service was great. Everyone was kind and welcoming. The space is not too big (which I prefer) however if it was full, I’d gladly wait in line. While it was just my friends and I at the location, the restaurant was constantly preparing to-go orders. It’s located in a shopping plaza but we had no trouble finding parking. Oh and parking is free!
One small thing…my friend ordered the mango smoothie with rainbow jellies but it was too sweet and not to her liking. Everyone’s preferred sweetness is different so if you love sweet drinks,...
