This was the first time we visited this establishment on 8/26. We like to try out new mom/pop type places and this came up on our google search. As soon as you walk through the front door it feels like you're taking a step back in time. 50's music was playing, the décor was from a time gone by, it was really cool. I found myself just looking around at all the different items they had on the walls, counters, etc. Our server, a younger girl was absolutely fantastic. One of the friendliest servers we've had in recent memory. Very attentive to us, asked us multiple times if we needed anything. I would go back just for the service. I had the "Old Glory" which was 2 eggs, ham, and home fries with rye toast. My meal was under $10 and the amount of food you get was crazy. I told my wife they could easily charge more money for how much food you get. The home fries were so good. Real potatoes, not something that looks like it was out of a can. Even the rye toast tasted better than what I'm used to. Not sure why but it did. The wife got the "Blue Ribbon", 2 eggs, bacon or sausage (she picked sausage), home fries with onions and peppers, and rye toast. She loved it! There was so much she couldn't finish her meal. The bill came to about $22 with a coke and a coffee. We will definitely...
Read moreI had the pot roast sandwich and it was amazing. Done of the best pot roast and gravy I've had in the surrounding Pittsburgh area. They asked if I wanted gravy on the fries and the really good gravy went so well with the fries I'm glad I said yes. Highly recommend this.
Mom has the 1/4 lb burger and said it was really good and cooked just right. She was very happy with her burger and onion rings.
Got a piece of their coconut cream pie and chocolate cream pie. The cream is really thick for the pies. It wasn't what I thought of as a good pie, but it didn't taste bad just the texture was off from what I expected and what I liked.
I was too full to try any ice cream but it looked like they had some...
Read moreThe name out front isn't lying...... this place is definitely "hometown". A cozy little neighborhood restaurant, in an actual quite neighborhood off the main street. This place is a no frills, stick to your ribs, home style kinda restaurant. Do come here and expect a 5 star dinning experience, only to get on social media or Google and give it a bad reviews. The food is simple, tasty, large portions, and won't break the bank. It actually taste like home to me....... even the coffee sucks, but it reminds me of what my grandparents drank and that alone is worth having 2 cups!!!! Support local businesses and come out and try this place, if your belly isn't full when you leave....... that's...
