De Sa Fishmarket — Restaurant in Taunton

This is directed to all customers that go to this place, when you buy any so called fresh fish or anything that has to be put on the scale on the top of the big counter make sure that you weigh that what ever it is at home because they will robe you blind. I just bought one fillet of cod fish that weighted on their scale 1.90lb at $6.99 per pound cost me $13.28, when I got home I used my personal scale specially made to weigh food and my scale weigh results were 1.13lb at $6.99lb=7.89 that's a difference of $5.39 that I was robed, when I went there to make my complaint the owner Argued with me denying that they were wrong and when I asked for him to put on the scale a legal one pound weight he refused and told to get out of there I said that I was going to call the police he said go ahead so I did and the police told me to go to the Taunton civil court because this is a civil matter and that's where I'm going next week, so to all of you reading this complaint watch out for...

This place is absolutely amazing if you are looking for authentic Portuguese food. Certain days of the week they even have a buffet. I was blown away by the fish and chips plate as the fish was so crunchy and delicious and I can't wait to try other things in the future. They also have authentic malasadas not that horrible, fried dough served at carnivals, and there are sweetbreads can be found warm at 7:30 a.m. 😁🥲 just amazing!! Unfortunately, they won't be having malasadas on Easter Sunday. 😟 My only disappointment was they have not published a Portuguese cookbook. Maybe someday they will seriously consider it. Haven't lived in Taunton in over 20 years. But still travel to Desa frequently. Especially on Friday's the food that's prepared is exceptional. About 10 to 15 different choices of apptizers, sides, fish, meat. Plus a complete menu that's made to order if you don't see something you like. The baked seafood stuffed sole is beyond words. I have tried it in several places, NOTHING LIKE THIS! The store has all Portuguese ingredients, juices, olives, liquor, honestly EVERYTHING, LOL.
