Ugly Duckling Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Taunton

So about 8 years ago I worked at this establishment and it was not the best place for somebody to work at mainly due to the fact that they treated all the female staff very weird, the only guys were the people in the kitchen and that was myself and the chef, and the owners would just drink the entire time that they were open I've seen a few comments on here talking about how the female owner would swear customers that was apparently normal, the male owner would just buried me around the entire restaurant because of my height, now what I did find funny was that apparently I was the only person on the workforce at the restaurant that was getting paid under the table, and that somebody had complained and I got told not to show up for work one night and that was my end experience of working there. Now a few things to know before going, they don't have a dishwasher they use a sink that has 3 diffrent stations plates sit I'm the 1st station 2nd station is for washing and the 3rd station is for a deep hot soak they would use these tablets and that was it nothing else, I saw alot of comments talking about how food would be awhile before getting to people, I would just go somewhere else the chef has no room to do many fishes at once so unless it's the same order you ain't getting your meal till whatever order was made first. I've seen photos that they've expanded the seating towards into the back where I use to store my bike and that they really haven't done anything with the kitchen so I wouldn't be surprised that there is nothing new or help to make the kitchen bigger and more efficient to larger crowd sizes, overall all the stuff that have worked there over the years that I know were wonderful people the owners on the other hand are jerks and assholes they swear at their own customers mainly at the regulars but if you are not used to it not going if we're all the history Buffs and whatnot that want to know the ugly duckling sits on the grounds of an older hotel that used to be there and yes the owners have thought about trying to do that but it was prior to covid but I don't know what their idea is now if you want somewhere to go that's going to have alcohol and all that fun jazz just stay at home you're better off, if you're looking for Portuguese food go to a Portuguese restaurant that knows what they are doing, you want pizza and all that just go to Taunton House of Pizza,Classics or just go to the pizza place that is in the green, all I'm saying is that if you're looking for somewhere to eat for the night I would just recommending going down to Somerset or going to Fall River or you can go up into Mansfield I would not ever eat at this establishment utensils plates and all that are not clean properly, Staffing is way understaffed, and the owners are rude and disrespectful towards their own customers unless you are a regular and which case you get swore at the entire time it's very...

We have always had a great experience here, but tonight they fell short!! Jamie the bartender is the only reason we come here as she is amazing. We typically sit at the bar and get amazing service. This time the bar was full and for the first time we had to sit at a table. The server was great, however once we order d the Apetizer which came out in a timely manner it all went south from there. My girlfriend and I order two easy items on the menu a Portuguese burger and a chicken Parmesan sandwich. My girlfriend’s meal came out and after waiting over 15-20 minutes my sandwich finally arrived. I then told the waitress this was simply unacceptable as my girlfriend would have been done with her meal by now but because she felt bad we shared her meal while waiting fo mine to arrive. There was clearly a breakdown or disconnect with the kitchen and that’s who failed us. The staff on the floor were amazing.
