It’s astonishing this place is still in business. The food, drinks, and atmosphere is excellent, but the owner is horrible. Note this is not a corporate store, so I guess she can be as hateful as she wants. But the way she talks to her employees is nothing short of degrading, demeaning, and a farce to her claims of a Christian mission. Several times I have cringed listening to her talk to what appears to be the only clean, well spoken, hardworking young people I’ve seen.
I have liked all the employees, but in a week or two she fires them. Other customers come back looking for “their” barista, only to find yet another new line up of trainees. She makes customers uncomfortable with her constant talking when they are trying to visit with their families. Once she even pushed ahead of a long line to make her and her husband drinks, then promptly left…as if the whole business is her personal kitchen (and her sweaty and inappropriate clothing was unappetizing to say the least).
Several of us in the community want this to be our hang out place, but it honestly makes me sick to hear her sing her own praises to customers about how this is her church mission to the community, while she treats others like dirt beneath her feet.
I love Foxtail Coffee, but I won’t be visiting Tavares location anymore. Spend your dollars at Eustis or Mount Dora, where you won’t get your caramel macchiato with a side...
Read moreI am a long time and loyal foxtail customer- wanted to try the Tavares location. I was a little disappointed when the barista didn’t know what a London fog was and proceeded to make a bitter, flavorless and not creamy drink. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get my drink while I studied after the barista disappeared for an extended amount of time (I was the only customer there being served). I can over look that as I was not in a hurry but it got worse:
Later into my time there many other customers came and went and a second barista started her shift alongside the other- she was excellent and clearly service oriented. The first barista that had served me earlier proceeded to audibly belittle and make derogatory comments to his coworker about the other patrons that had been there while I was studying. I felt terrible for the second barista having to listen to him- she did not engage but how awkward and I’m sure she felt really embarrassed to be out in that position. I was appalled and kept listening to hear what he might say about me! He did not but I had to bite my tongue not to go tell him the whole establishment could hear him and if he was my employee he would have been publicly fired and...
Read moreGreat employees. I always get the same girl and she’s super sweet (has the cutest nail sets). Place is always nice and clean. The atmosphere in general is 10/10. One small problem though, I’ve gotten the same drink, the coconut mocha cold brew reg. from 2 different locations. The downtown Eustis location always charges me a dollar less than Tavares for the same exact drink? I’m not sure if it’s adding syrups or owned by someone different, almost $9 is crazy for a cold brew and asking for a tip on top of that $9 coffee is even worse. Maybe consider paying a livable wage since you’re charging an absurd amount for a drink. Anyway, that’s not the problem to be focused on, the...
