I really hope the owners of this location see this review. This is more for them than anything else. They badly need to re-evaluate the way this restaurant is being operated. It's a shame since at the time of this review the location is only about 1 year old. We use to bring the kids through the drive thru, but because of the last three experiences we are never returning to this location again. Instead we'll grab them Subway next door - or just do something totally different. We will never return to this location again, and I highly discourage others because they are really bad. Here are some details.
I will start with the way drive thru orders are being handled. The location has a high volume drive through with three windows. However, the staff is currently asking diners to place their order at the menu, pay at the first window, get drinks at the second window and then drive around to the side. However, they aren't recording car type, name or any other information. Eventually someone will come out of the restaurant and just go from car to car asking what people ordered. This is terribly unreliable, and I can tell you that out of three times through, they got three orders wrong. Based on feedback from other reviewers, I'm not alone here.
Additionally, the amount of time it took to receive the orders is way beyond what it should be. The third and final time I experienced problems we waited 27 minutes from the time we paid to the time we received our food. And, we had to park the car and go inside to resolve the issue. Whoever was bringing food to the car must have given our back to another car, so we simply never received our food. The idea of driving around the side of the building is just not working. Your system isn't designed that way. McDonald's is built around systems and efficiency, but there isn't a reliable system in place here - and is certainly isn't efficient.
You need to find a way to utilize your brand new high volume drive thru the way it was designed. Maybe you need to speak to someone at McDonald's to get some feedback. It's obvious by the reviews that there is a big problem at this location, but I'm sure you can fix it since the store is designed for high volume.
I think the manager is trying to mimic what Chick-fil-a does at their drive thru, but Chick has a totally different system asking for customers names and sometimes even recording the kind of car they drive. This location isn't doing any of that. You can't blindly copy something that works without putting thought and effort into the process.
I really hope the owner sees this - because you have to get involved to fix your store. As a business owner myself, I would read this review and head straight to the store and start making changes. Especially considering the investment you made to build a brand new location. Unfortunately, the manager isn't making good decisions to provide consistency.
BTW - That's all McDonald's has going... consistency. We all know it's not the best food, but we know what we are getting. Right now this location doesn't provide that - nobody knows what they will get and if it will be what they paid for. Once the element of consistency is gone, what do you have here? Good luck, hopefully you find a way to repair...
Read moreHad a completely unacceptable experience at this store this evening, we stopped in for a quick snack on our way to see family as we do on a fairly regular basis. I ordered a Fry and a hot fudge sundae from the app to go at 5:34 Pm and after a few minutes the Display showed being served as they do when your food is about to be called out, and after about 10 minutes my wife’s fry’s were dropped at the desk as my name was yelled out. After about another 5 minutes I managed to get someone’s attention to ask about my sundae and was told They were getting it, after a few more minutes we start trying to get someone to come back to the counter just to get the talk to the hand gesture.. Finally someone else comes to the counter and tried to get it sorted out just to come back and tell me they don’t have what was needed to do it correctly, and it is 6:03 by this point. Just as we are about o leave the Manager comes out of the bathroom just in time to apologize for our wait. In the time I sat there waiting 3 people had to come up to handle the “table service” themselves, 4 people came in from the drive though for mistakes on their orders just to walk out even more pissed off. Even my wife’s fries came out unsalted, but the hand gesture did it for me. I will just wait the extra few minutes and go to Culver’s from now on. Better food anyway and at least you go in knowing there will be a small wait but your food will be fresh. P.s I have probably left reviews for hundreds of McDonald’s across the eastern US and Caribbean without a truly bad review until now which should say something to my expectations and tolerance for little things. On a positive note store has a nice dining area and they definitely focus on getting their drive through moved out quickly, even though that comes at the cost of them ignoring the front desk and...
Read moreI have driven past this McDonalds more than 100 times. This morning I was in a hurry so I stopped for something quick.
I waited at the outside 2nd menu board while two cars ordered and went thru the first lane. I waited another two minutes and backed up and went to the first lane. Two cars pulled into the second lane and ordered while I sat at the first menu board. After another minute I started to say hello into the order speaker until someone finally came on and said, can I take your order. I explained to her that I had sat at the 2nd menu board while two other cars had ordered at the first and another minute before I backed up and came to the first menu board. I let her know I sat their while two other cars ordered from the second menu board. I had spent 10 minutes waiting to order in the drive thru. What was her response? Go ahead with your order. I asked if they had the steak bagel combo and could I get it large with Ice Coffee. Her reply was "We ain't had that in two years." I then asked if they had anything without pork. She said, "We got bacon, ham and sausage." I could not believe how rude she was and how she just dismissed what I had told her. I wanted to speak with a manager but had wasted enough time. I thanked her and let her know I would go elsewhere.
I stopped at the Clermont Hardee's and got a Chicken Biscuit combo. There service was quick and the order taker was polite and friendly. The chicken biscuit was juicy, hot and tasted much better than anything I would have received at McDonald's.
I will never bother stopping at this McDonald's again and just want to warn others that read my reviews to...
