The Lodge — Restaurant in Tawas Township

The pizza we had was AMAZING. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had, although the service was not. We had a young waiter who decided to get our food orders first without asking for our drink orders, we waited way to long for our drinks, they came well after our food. I asked for an extra dressing with my salad which had a lot of brown goo on (old lettuce I’m assuming) and he took about 10 minutes just to come back with that. There were a lot of people standing around and not really doing much when there were customers everywhere. There were two younger woman at the front counter who seemed way over worked but they were keeping up with everything thrown at them. We waited 20 minutes for a refill that never came, I ended up going up to the bar where our waiter was eating (during our whole dinner) and asked for a refill. We quickly got our bill and box and left. As a former waitress myself I see so much great potential in the restaurant, who knows maybe we just got a inexperienced server, but in my professional opinion- when your at work you shouldn’t be shoving food down while you have customers waiting for refills/orders...

My family recommended that we have dinner here. I ordered the fish, with fries. I also asked for a side order of coleslaw. The fish wasn't too bad & I loved the Steak fries. But the coleslaw was TERRIBLE!! I took one bite (& spit it out into my napkin). When I told our Server that it didn't taste good, her reply was, "I have been serving it all day and no one else has complained. And they've been eating it." Well, it didn't taste good, so I wasn't going to eat it. I asked her to take it off our bill. She repeated what she originally said, and said that she couldn't. I told my sister that I was NOT going to pay for something that didn't taste right. She didn't eat her coleslaw either. The fact that our Server didn't offer a replacement, or take it off our check...her "tip" was affected. I have been a Server for many years. And I would have NEVER argued with a customer like she did. It really left a bad taste in my mouth (literally) for The Lodge. I think I will stick with...

This place is an untapped gem for burgers, I had no idea just moving up here. The associate hinted he might be able to coerce the cook into making it, to be honest not a fan of tomatoes and loading it with a salad so the cook agreed. I've went to 5 star restaurants in Chicago and Dallas that don't hold a candle to their burgers. It's like the rodeo at Burger King but it's big brother and the flavor was outstanding making this probably the best burger I had. The Alfredo I had a few weeks ago wasn't anything special but I must say the burgers are beyond what I was expecting, so much my dogs had to help eat some of the beef. I'd give 10 plus stars for burgers hands down and hopefully they put on menu, I never ordered burgers here before until talking to them about what they could make.
