Let me preface this review by saying I work in the service industry.and know there’s a right way and a wrong way to speak to customers and you can get the same point across. I have always enjoyed this place in the past and purchase wine to take home. Yesterday’s unsavory experience with Austin (Austen) has completely tainted my opinion. One very pleasant employee was helping my friend with a membership order being sent out of state and I was waiting to ask for water for my husband, who was our designated driver. After the tasting room cleared out I approached Austin (Austen) to ask for a refill on the water my husband was drinking. He gave me a look like he was ready to fight me. It was really bizarre. Then he flung 2 wine glasses up on the bar and said in a very haughty tone “I will get your water AFTER I help these customers.” His reaction made me think I must have cut in front of other customers. I turned around to apologize and there was nobody behind me because the customers were still walking through the door. I walked over to my friend and said “He’s rude!” As the other customers were approaching he said “I can hear you.” I said “and you’re rude.” He said the other person can help me. He kept making provoking comments. I told my husband and my other friends witnessed it. As we were leaving Austin was yelling at my husband to stop looking at him and was tapping his own chest and opening his arms like “come at me.” And when my husband and the other gentleman we were with returned to the establishment to speak with the manager regarding our disturbing experience, he really started doing it and accusing my husband of having too much to drink and saying he was drunk. Off water??? When we were outside, waiting for my husband and the other gentleman, we were approached by a group of ladies who were in enjoying their wine previously. They shared with us that they were witnessing the confrontation going on inside saying Austin was asking my husband to physically fight him by saying “come at me bro.”They also said they were leaving going to a different winery because the pours are barely anything and Austin made them uncomfortable because he was rude to them. Like he didn’t want customers there. I would never expect this out of a winery. I’m giving this a one star review because I can tell this is behavior this individual feels very comfortable displaying and if they can’t hold their employees to higher standards and he’s able to get away with this, it ruins all the hard work and dedication that everyone else put into this establishment and the beautiful tasting wine so it’s customers can enjoy the experience one would expect from such an establishment. This is unacceptable in any establishment. My husband and I have been considering which winery we would like to have a membership through and this was my favorite. Sadly, we will not return and I regret the money we spent here. Go enjoy the atmosphere and the fantastic wine. Just don’t ask Austin (Austen) for water!! It will...
Read moreWe’ve been loyal members of Robert Renzoni Vineyards since the very beginning and have always enjoyed bringing friends and family to share in the experience. Unfortunately, during our recent visit, we encountered a situation that has left us deeply disappointed.
This past weekend, we were visiting with a group of friends to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. There were about 12 of us in total, including three separate wine club members. We enjoyed our tastings without issue, and since the restaurant wasn’t busy, we were seated quickly. We ordered quite a bit of food and additional wine and had a wonderful time during our meal.
Afterward, we decided to move into the member lounge to escape the heat. At the time, the lounge was practically empty—only one other couple was present—so we didn’t anticipate a problem, especially since our group included multiple active members.
However, after ordering more wine in the lounge, we were informed that our group was too large and would need to leave due to a policy limiting groups to six people. While we understand and respect that policies are in place, the way this was handled by staff was surprisingly unfriendly and dismissive. We tried to explain that we were three member parties, but the response lacked flexibility or courtesy.
As a result, we made the difficult decision to cancel our long-standing membership, and the other member couples with us did the same. It's truly unfortunate, but we prefer to support a winery that values and respects its members, particularly those who have supported it from the very beginning.
We wanted to share this feedback not to be confrontational, but in hopes that it can be received...
Read moreThis one was not originally on our list to go to when we were in Temecula. It was recommended by a customer who was a local when we were at the Peltzer winery. The scenery as you drive up is really pretty. It’s in a very pretty building. There’s a restaurant right next-door to the wine tasting room. They have a patio that you can sit outside, but to get your next sample quickly you need to stand at the bar. But that’s how it is at every winery I found out pretty much. Pelzer was the only one that gave us a sheet to where we could order at the bar and then go sit at tables. Indoors. It was 112° out I swear! Anyway, I sampled the Prosecco, the big Fred’s red, the Barbara, the Tempranillo, the Sonata, the Concerto, the syrah, the old vine, Zinfandel, and the Paradiso dessert wine. These were all split between me and my friend. I liked the big Freds red and the old Zinfandel the best and even bought a bottle of each one of those. I love the pasta sauce that they served with the crackers or whatever they were so much that I bought a jar of their pasta sauce too. This was the second winery we went to all week where I enjoyed majority of the samples. The only one that beat this winery was Ponte and I became a member of that one because I didn’t have to do it annually and I only have to buy two bottles every other month. This wine club was a little bit more than that, or there was more to it. The lady that served us was amazing. Great customer service. She was the best her name...
