Dinner for five. 11/30/24 5:00pm. I usually don't leave reviews but in this case I feel I have to. For anyone living a sober lifestyle please be mindful of my experience. I ordered a Virgin Banana Margarita making sure to mention to the server I was in recovery and please make sure it had no alcohol in it. When it arrived without even thinking about it I started drinking it. As soon as I swallowed it I could tell it was loaded with alcohol. I freaked out. I told my girlfriend it had alcohol in it and went to the bathroom to rinse my mouth out. That reminds me, the toilet was disgusting and there was no soap in the dispenser. Do you know how gross it is having to lift a filthy toilet seat to pee and not having any soap to wash your hands with. Anyway, after rinsing my mouth out I started panicking with my thoughts running through my head. I kept trying to convince myself my sobriety was intact and it wasn't my my fault. It definitely wasn't my fault but my sobriety had been affected. In the world of recovery taking a sip of alcohol is known as a slip whether it was intentional or not. A slip is a slip and my support system must be made aware of it and I need to share it with the group and everything I'm experiencing must be expressed and explored. It's a very serious issue and it needs to be taken seriously. The only ones not taking it seriously were the staff at Anaya's. I spoke with the manager and he didn't seem to bothered by the situation. He was apologetic and said it was the severs fault. His concern didn't go any further than that. He put the blame on his staff even though he was the one making the drinks. He didn't ask me if there was anything he could do to remedy the situation, he didn't offer to comp my meal, he didn't offer a discount or offer me a coupon or anything....not nothing...just a sorry and thanks for letting us know. I'll never go back. This incident will affect me for days, weeks, and years to come. I don't think they understand the gravity of the situation or how negatively this will affect me. All because of a careless mistake made by server who should've been paying...
Read moreSo, I came here on a Wednesday evening on the way home from work, just wanting to get food to go, not realizing it was a sit down restaurant. When I came in they told me that their online ordering system was down, but that if it was my first time in (it was) that I should really stay and enjoy the atmosphere and a margarita. I thanked them but explained that I was a teacher and I just wanted to get home, but I would look at their menu and took a seat in their bar area to look it over.
Lots of their menu items sounded good, so I asked a waitress what she suggested. I ended up ordering the Mexican Pizza with Carnitas. Once I ordered, I noticed there were some mariachis that played some soft, beautiful music. Next thing I know the bartender brought me a house margarita "on the house" because I said I was a teacher!
The margarita was one of the best I've had in a long time, the music created an excellent ambiance. My food came out fairly quickly and they even gave me chips and salsa to take home with me.
The Mexican pizza was really fresh, everything I had hoped for, and I will definitely be back again, probably on a Monday, because they said their house margaritas are...
Read moreOk I came in thinking this was a walk-in place but it was actually a nice sit down restaurant. I passed by it a lot over the years never went in, OMG I should've tried it sooner, now we found our new taco Tuesday soft taco spot! I order take-out I looked at the menu didn't see much of any taco options, then I walked back outside and saw their board with the specials on it and there it was. Not much of a description anywhere so I had to ask about the tacos to the hostess. They are small soft tacos meat, cilantro, and onion, they came with chips and salad (a plus). I got the shredded beef and the chicken I wish I had ordered the ground beef as well I'm sure it would've been just as good as the other meats. The meat was moist and tasted great the tortillas were also great with much love. This review is based on just the tacos I've had, I haven't had anything else. Funny story a guy came out from the back and ask if I could taste test his lemon ice cream he made to see if I he should add more sugar I told him just a little more but he wanted it to taste more natural. Very kind staff, I'll be...
