My experience: It was a super busy night and they were super understaffed. The waitress was good, but the cheesesteak was literally the lamest cheesesteak I've ever had. like after I showed her that there were NO onions or peppers on it (it was supposed to be slathered with onions and peppers all mixed into the cheesy meaty yumminess) she brought out a small dish of somewhat fried onions and peppers that I was supposed to be happy just putting on the half eaten cheese steak. "OK, its super busy and they're super understaffed". But still, it was the lamest cheesesteak ever so I told the waitress I don't like to complain but if theres anything they would like to do to help me out... she consulted with the manager and they offered a $10 gift card. OK, that's better than a poke in the eye I guess. So I went back a few weeks later when there were literally about 10 people in the whole place and asked the waittress for the "Best Cheesesteak on the menu" and explained to her that I got the $10 gift card because of the bad cheesesteak experience before... i suppose HOPING that they'd put their best foot forward and bring me something like a good cheesesteak. To be fair, I'm not sure if she was listening or interested, but the cheesesteak that came out was only slightly less lame than the first one. I was surprised... I'm from Philadelphia so I know 2 things: what a good cheesesteak is and its awful freakin hard to make a bad one. maybe I got unlucky... I have to think I did. However, that was my experience and it really sucked. they other food I've had there was just regular bar food. Nothing special, but not disappointing either. But for a place to call itself Phillies and they allow anyone in the kitchen who doesn't know how to make a decent...
Read moreThis bar is new, formerly called Flanny's. The new ownership pretty much took over the operation. Much of the furniture, fixtures and some of the employees are the same. Thought I'd give it a try since I was a regular patron of Flanny's, which was a pretty good bar. These guys have a lot of work to do in the area of systems and procedures so their customers are better served. The bar was not too busy when I visited today at about 3:30 pm. My food order was delivered to the wrong table by a supervisor and then returned to the kitchen, where I could see it from my seat at the bar; I tried to flag down the server for about 15 minutes to tell her about it. When I reached her, she seemed confused, then proceeded to deliver to me the very meal I had been watching; it was a cold, dry Philly cheese sandwich with limp, cold fries. While waiting for the server to return so I could pay the bill (hands raised to get her attention unsuccessfully), I saw another server put her personal drink with straw on the counter; subsequently another server poured beer into the glass and served it to a customer. Yes, systems and procedures, and perhaps a better ratio of managers/owners to servers (too many...
Read moreWell don't believe everything you see on ads.....lol we first got there it took about 10 mins before anyone came and brought us menus. Then it took another 10 to 15 minutes for them to bring us our drinks. They said they had a happy hour from 3:00 to 7:00 we ordered three draft beers but we're still $7 a piece total of $21And some change. The first two beers weren't even cold they were warm. The 3rd beer came little bit colder. Then the food was a joke. I asked him for hot wings and wings were not even hot (chili hot). The service was ok but to be honest with you it was not even busy enough for them not to come around the table more often. We had a party of 2 adults 3 kids. The time we left out of there the bill was $169. I was like wow. Plus to top it off it was hot inside the build. For those prices that you charge you can at least turn the AC on. I would not recommend this place to anyone plus never to...
