Bay Garden Cafe truly stands out among its peers as it captures the essence of authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine. Unlike other cafes with similar names that might fall short on delivering the true flavors of Hong Kong, this establishment exceeds expectations.
The breakfast sets offered at Bay Garden Cafe are undeniably good deals. The star of the show for me was the grilled chicken with egg dish. The chicken was expertly prepared, with its crispy skin adding a delightful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the tender and flavorful meat underneath. This dish was a true testament to the kitchen's skills in delivering a well-executed and satisfying meal.
Another highlight of the breakfast set was the classic Hong Kong macaroni soup. This dish is a staple of Hong Kong's comfort food scene, and Bay Garden Cafe's rendition did not disappoint. The soup was hearty and comforting, with the macaroni cooked to perfection and the broth rich in flavor.
While the Hong Kong milk tea, a beloved beverage in the city's culinary culture, wasn't as robust in tea flavor as I had anticipated, it didn't overshadow the overall experience. It's worth noting that milk tea preferences can vary widely, and what might be considered a strong tea taste can differ from person to person.
The attentive and prompt service further added to the dining experience. The staff's attentiveness and efficiency contributed to a smooth and enjoyable meal, making the visit all the more pleasant.
The interior decor of Bay Garden Cafe was a breath of fresh air. The brightness and cleanliness of the space created a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining ambiance.
Furthermore, the convenience of ample parking in the back of the restaurant is a practical advantage, particularly in areas where parking can be a challenge.
All in all, my experience at Bay Garden Cafe was highly satisfying, and I'm eagerly anticipating my return visit to explore their dinner offerings. The cafe's commitment to delivering authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine, combined with its attentive service and inviting ambiance, makes it a noteworthy dining...
Read moreToday, Feb 08, 2023 Wednesday, I have been to Bay garden cafe many times before. But the service for lunch today is really bad. We arrived at 12:00 noon and sat down quickly, and no one took the order until 12:45, I There are three people here, two are ordered curry beef with rice, and one is ordered pork chop with spaghetti. Another two cups of hot water and a cup of hot coffee. At 1:18, the restaurant manager brings a cup of hot coffee and two cups of hot water, but the coffee is only 1/2 cup, the manager explained that the new coffee is boiling now and asks my friend to drink the left over from last pot. he should wait making a new pot of coffee then delivering a full cup of hot coffee instead of just only half cup of coffee. At 1:30 pm, two sets of curry beef brisket and rice were delivered, but the waiter were not gave us the two sets of curry beef brisket, the other one was deliveried to other table.
The waiter had a bad attitude and responded that the isolation desk also ordered one beef brisket one minute earlier than us, ok, I swallowed this, since we ordered two curry beef brisket, I understand that the kitchen chef may make the mistake or the waiter missed the order, the waiter can politely response missing order, just apolized to us and we will accept it instead of answering loudly and rude attitude!
Then wait until 1:45pm for another curry beef brisket with rice and pork chop with spaghetti. until 2:00pm , we had to ask for a full cup of coffee, then the floor manager bring it to us! I invite two friends who is living at Walnut, It was the first time they come to this cafe. They felt that the service was really bad, and they would never bring friends to eat here...
Read moreThis Cantonese restaurant is unique in the sense that it does not offer free tea like other non-dim-sum restaurants. I saw there were tea pots in the neighboring tables so I thought it would provide one to us for free. And I told the server to give us a pot of tea. Instead she gave us two cups with tea bags, which obviously are not free. Then she told us the customers at the two other tables brought their own tea leaves with them. However the pot of hot water is free. I have never seen a Cantonese non-dim-sum restaurant encourage customers to bring their own tea leaves. An old guy was leaving the restaurant when a server stopped him for under -paying. Apparently he did not wait for the bill and just left money he thought was enough. What he missed was the charge of the cup of tea - $2.85. He said " I have never seen a (Cantonese) restaurant not offering free tea ". I certainly agree. Dim sum restaurants may charge something like $2 per person for tea, but it is generally accepted that non-dim-sum restaurants offer...
