DIAMOND STANDARD OF SERVICE!
We arrived around 9pm on New Years eve. And of course every table was packed. We went ahead and put our names on the wait list after being assured that the list was moving quickly. Sure enough 15 min later we were called.
After being seated we waited about 10-15 more minutes for someone to take our drink order when JAS who had been behind the register asked if we were ok. She had a large cast on her leg as she had recently twisted her ankle. We told her no one had helped us yet and she told us that they were down to 2 servers because of call outs. We were extremely surprised to hear the bad news but then she took our full food order. I asked if she was a waitress and she said No. She was just helping out. So we laughed and said thankyou as she limped away.
We waited about another 5 minutes and decided to try another restaurant that was off property. I went to the manager Thomas and asked him to cancel our order and he asked why. I told him that we understood that they were really busy and there were no hard feelings but we needed to get a bite before everything closed for the evening.
This is where it gets good. Thomas refused to let us leave. He knew we had planned to pay for our meal with our loyalty points which were about $45 worth and he refused to let our first experience at the Rock and Raw be negative. I reluctantly agreed and motioned for my wife to return to the restaurant as she was already at the bottom of the escalator.
By the time she got back to the table our drinks had arrived. 3-4 minutes later our first course arrived and about 5 min after that our main entrees arrived. On top of the food service being EXTREMELY FAST the food was amazing.
I was so stunned that I forgot to take photos of all the food. We had Bao Buns (5 stars) Combination Lo mein (4 stars) Tempura shrimp (4 stars) Sexy Girl Roll (5 stars) Green Dragon Roll (5 stars)
The pricing on this menu is very fair. We expected it to be expensive because its on casino property but the combination 3 bao buns were only $12 and the Rolls were about $17 each. So not too bad. I have to say that I really lost it when we asked for the check and Jas who wasnt our waitress but had been checking in on us said that we werent allowed to see the bill. Thomas had comped the meal and told her to remind us to get dessert before we left.
Ive been in a lot of restaurants and I have to say that ive never gotten service like this anywhere. Even though they were short staffed the General manager and the Food and beverage manager were out there waiting on tables and making sure the guests were happy. And most cashiers with a twisted ankle would have stayed behind the register instead of going above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of.
If the hard rock doesnt give out Medals for this kind of service they should. Or at least a nice raise or a couple of free nights at the hotel at the least. The staff at the Rock and Raw is amazing and they have earned a patron for life.
Thank you THOMAS and JAS for giving us an excellent New Years Eve story to tell our friends and an amazing...
Read moreCame here for a nice dinner with my aunt and we had decent food and service. However, during our dinner a waitress spilled hot jasmine tea on my aunt which left a mark on her leg. The security team came out to check out her leg and offered a cold compress for the red mark the tea left and also asked if we wanted to submit a formal complaint/ claim form. We didn’t want to get the waitress in trouble for an honest mistake, and we had a show to attend shortly after, so we said it was okay and declined submitting a claim. What shocked us though was when they brought the bill, not a single thing was comped, not even the hot tea that the waitress spilled… I was surprised management wouldn’t at least offer something for us out of principal, especially since we were trying to be considerate of the servers and declined submitting a claim to help them out. My aunt is very friendly and joked about it to try making the servers feel better, and I think management took advantage of this and the fact that we already declined a claim form so they didn’t offer comping any of her food, which I felt came off as very greedy. I had no complaints about the food, but I won’t be back since management really doesn’t care about customers experience here — which doesn’t feel right for a pricey restaurant...
Read moreI was at the hardrock for the Tempo John Summit pool party. The show was amazing !! Afterwards we were hungry and decided to get a bite to eat before leaving We stopped in at Rock n Raw sushi joint. We were seated quickly by a friendly hostess Our server was also amazing as was the food but while dining the manager Abby came and said I had to wear my coat while eating because it may offend someone. This wasn’t mentioned while we were offered a table or by the 3 people who either took our order or delivered our food. This should have been mentioned BEFORE we ordered apps, drinks, sake , sushi and entrees No one wants to eat dinner in their winter coat because an uptight miserable stale person was not comfortable enough with her own feminine body that she found mine offensive. Had it been mentioned before we sat and ordered would have been no issue. We came in pool attire per the rules on the website and then are told to cover up. Not great service or way to make someone feel welcome Abby is definitely the worst part of this experience. Zero stars to her. Maybe she needs a vacation so she can...
