First I’m going to start with a location specific review. This location is one of the best I’ve been to. Most of the locations I’ve went to, and it’s been a lot, I don’t use the drive-thru because it’s either slower than just going in, or the drive-thru is just hard to get through with a big truck. However at this location the drive-thru is easy to get through and extremely fast. One thing I noticed is that instead of taking your order, ringing you up, then the one person going to get your order together. These guys have a great system, the cashiers tells another employee item by item what your ordering and if you have a large order, I’ve seen as many as three other employees getting stuff and have the order bagged and ready by the time the cashier finishes cashing you out. On top of that some locations don’t have stuff that others may. However this location has all of our favorites including the butterfly rolls. Definitely one of my favorite Shipley’s. Just wish it was open later.
I love Shipley’s as a whole. I grew up in SC and thought Kristen Kreme was the best you could get. When I met my wife I was buying Krispy Kreme from Walmart or whatever and argued when she said Shipley’s were better. I had never tried Shipley’s but just thought I knew what I was talking about. However when she convinced me to go to a Shipley’s I discovered how wrong I was. Now don’t get me wrong Krispy Kreme are good, if you get to go to one of their locations and watch them being made and get some fresh. However Shipley’s is far superior. Even superior to getting the fresh Krispy Kreme. Nothing will replace the memories I have growing up with my parents taking me to Krispy Kreme and watching the machines make the donuts. However my kids will grow up with memories of stopping by a Shipley’s for not only the best tasting but also the best variety.
While I will say gladly they have the best donuts I’ve ever had and my favorite is their butterfly rolls, which are fancy cinnamon rolls. I would like to see some of the locations would be open a little later. I’m not just a donut for breakfast type. Read moreWith the previous owner, it was great. But with the new owner, it is terrible. Even when they're appropriately staffed, there is no rush or synergy among staff. There is no communication for someone to grab part of an order while the register person is still taking orders. One person checking out everyone, and they're inefficient. Lines are back to the bathroom inside, and out to the road outside. Many times they don't utilize the outside person with a tablet to help advance the car line. It would seem as though they have more business than with the previous owner, but it's just simply that they're not keeping up. 20-30 minute lines inside. The person at the register needs to only be getting donuts, and have a runner for kolaches and drinks and anything else that is not closely located by the register. Too much chit chat with the customers. I also understand that the new owner is not ever there, and has told the workers not to contact him, call him, or bother him, but to simply run the business. This is not good business ownership qualities. Once Dunkin' donuts opens up, you're going to lose a lot of business if you don't get this...

I was not greeted with a hello or how can i help you. Just a blank stare. I had to repeat myself multiple times. When she handed over the bag. I didn't get a thank you, or a have a great day. Nothing. She just closed the drivethru window in my face without a goodbye. I drove home and realized that my kid's donut holes were missing from the order. Donut holes are now priced at 2.25/dozen. Insane. customer service is really important. There's three employees standing around having a conversation at the window and none of them decided to check my bag for accuracy.
