Papa Leone's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Tennessee

On our drive into our cabin we ordered a pick up order ahead of time. We were left on hold for awhile and when the person returned to us she seemed overwhelmed. We asked if there were any specials and were told that there was a 2 large (2 topping), 2 liter soda, and cheesy bread for $$. We ordered the special and on one of the pizzas opted for cheese (for our kids). When we arrived to pick up the order we were informed we were "disqualified" because we didn't get two toppings on one of the pizzas but paid the same price🤯. Had we been informed of that we wouldn't have opted for the special. When I spoke with the two ladies at the counter I was met with a basic flat response. I pushed a bit to make them understand, one walked away with an attitude saying we were told over the phone, which we most definitely were not. The angry lady wasn't even our order taker! The confused and overwhelmed young lady that took our order was like I can give you the soda and the bread but the bread will be a while (all while giggling). I am a cabin owner and have referred many guests here for convenience because the location is literally at the bottom of our mountain. Never been impressed with the food and after last night I'm confident I won't be returning. This entire situation is no different then having water instead of a soda that's included in a meal. Perhaps I should've asked for my two toppings (xx cheese) in a baggy on the side! Added details since the owner thought my star rating was a "fluke".

Sir, I suggest you take a hard look at your video footage. I was not "out of control". I was absolutely upset and continued to press your employees because I couldn't fathom the logic. The bread sticks weren't offered untill I asked who I could call and speak to the following day. The response to the bread sticks was a giggling I can get them but it will be awhile. There was a couple on the bench waiting for food and as I retrieved the soda they laughed at the situation and I simply said don't order the special and walked off. The one f bomb was my comment to the level of silliness and I didn't screm or yell. Historically, I give great reviews and unfortunately this situation shouldn't have occurred at all because I simply didn't take the two toppings. The food was absolutely AMAZING but that's not what touched my soul! Everyone has that one toddler that pitches a fit out in public for no reason........well I have that one child! My girl was having a bad day all around and throwing a big tantrum every where we went that day that we couldn't spend no more then a half hour in any store we went into. I will admit I was embarrassed, nothing I did calmed her down. So we would have to leave. We finally decided it was time to eat dinner, we heard great things about the pizzeria and wanted to try it but knew we probably would end up having to take our food to go. When we got there you guessed it my girl was Still not happy. But I was just trying to fight thru it. But she just wasnt having any of it. We were about to get up and leave when the sweet cashier walked over and asked if she could get her some crayons and coloring book. I told her sure but it probably wouldn't help cause she she had acted that way all day. But thanks to her we got to enjoy our pizza and our time there because our baby girl was so focused on that coloring sheet and we were no longer embarrassed. Its amazing what little things can do to make your whole visit to a restaurant simply amazing!! Well besides the amazing food!! She understood and was very helpful. I never leave reviews for anything, but I couldn't not say something after this experience. This is possibly the worst pizza I have ever had, and absolutely the worst pizza at this price point. We ordered takeout. When we got it home and opened the box, I was so confused I didn't even know what to say. It was cold, burnt and basically had no cheese. It looked like a failed frozen pizza attempt. I went back to the online reviews and saw that the pictures people posted with the 5 star reviews looked nothing like ours. Our crust was tough and dry. Like I mentioned earlier, almost no cheese. At one point, I literally took five bites of a slice with no cheese in any of the bites. How is that possible? When I started looking at some of the 1 star reviews, many others had similar comments. Other issues with our order: my son couldn't finish the calzone because it was so dry and didn't include enough dipping sauce to compensate, they forgot to include marinara sauce with our bread sticks, and they forgot to slice part of the pizza.
