Waffle House — Restaurant in Terrell

This is the first time i have ever been into a waffle house that the entire staff was so engrossed over who didnt do what. Big waitress had a cold coughing all ovee her hands. I mentioned i didnt appreciate hearing all the talk about Tommy having to wash dishes that morning staff left. With all due respect if she has a cold she should go home instead of openly caughing everywhere. I Love Waffle House but was sitting forever no customers in the restaurant no drinks. The usual upbeat friendly staff was cold and after my voicing i didnt want to hear about Tommy. The staff was laughing about a pickle on the window. Really clean it up! Someone needs to drop this crew. I hope someone reads this post. Crazy i didnt come here to hear beauty/barber shop talk nor any other gossip either. Still no drinks food was all wrong pickle still in the window the cold brought us our drinks really??? after the meal was at the table. Orignal waitress opted to not be waitress at our table. So Rosie did. She had the caugh poor thing. Original waitress and the grill cook were talking about how most goggle review knocked the staff for being young and how some people are too old to work for Waffle House. Knowing that i was posting a review on google. I almost wished i would have gone live on facetime. Perhaps next time I have this type of encounter i will. Rosie was cordial. Poor Mr after working all morning invited me to late lunch was so embarrassed he paid the bill tight lipped. I expressed to Rosie or Our food was cold we had no drinks for a long while, didnt care for restaurant gossip and all she could say was sorry. What else could she say. She was left alone while the staff was outside or in the freezer. Our waiter/ waitress normally make a $20.00 and up tip from us. Not this time. Rosie i hope you get better. God bless you guys. Food was as you would expect service was another story. One server was extremely out of shape and just as useless as can be. Slow and lethargic best describe her. The other waitress continually apologize for the other ones service which was not really existent. The cook and the other waitress who I think may have been a shift manager or something like that were amazing and like I said continuously apologized for the other ones behavior. I didn't really get anybody's name but I did make sure that the waitress who took care of us was tipped nicely. In today's society I believe you should earn your pay and sad to say the waitress who wasn't my waitress earned her pay today. It is my opinion that this restaurant needs to "trim the fat" from its staff so to speak. Had it not been for the initial poor service I would have given a full five stars. But the cook and the other waitress definitely saved y'all and got you got you the three. I wish I had gotten their name so that I could give him a shout out but I can describe them the cook was a white elderly man with white hair, the outstanding waitress was a slender I guess she was white girl with dark hair I want to say it had a little bit of red to it and the waitress that wasn't worth a dang was a big ol white girl. I think her name might have been Eyleen because she was dang sure leaning all over everything couldn't hardly stand up under her own weight. Trey was awesome and getting us on the list and getting us the low bar table as soon as possible. Some very inconsiderate customers decided they were going to camp out for a while including a lady with her son who stayed there for three rounds of plates while lines of people were waiting. Then showed server Cassie an app on her phone and talked about her family for a while while people were still waiting. I'm not saying people shouldn't enjoy their breakfast spot but it's a bit inconsiderate to not at least encourage customers who are definitely done eating to clear the spot if they're not using it since you have people waiting. Our server Lily I don't know what happened with her My husband's chicken sandwich didn't get served to him until the entire restaurant full of people got their food and there was at least 30 people there. I should also mention that all of those people got there after we did and after we got seated and still ate before him. I don't understand it but please take the feedback run with it and be better. We're usually not disappointed with waffle House but today was pretty disappointing. We are being generous to give them a three because at least the food was cooked all the way The hash browns were practically burnt oh damn but the rest seemed all right.
