Great Brunch! In Tewksbury!! Consistently good food for lunch/dinner too!
A number of months ago we discovered BSBG through a mailer (one of the few days we actually read our mail) and decided to try it out. I got a cheesesteak and immediately said “this is craveable”. It was. We came back a handful of times and it was hard to try anything else on the menu. Fortunately, they were able to get WiFi so we can now come over for a late lunch on our work from home days and still answer email and Slacks.
Well - imagine my surprise when I found out they started to offer Brunch on Sundays from 11-3pm! We are now committed to coming every weekend we can - our favorites so far:
Loaded Tots: cheesy spicy tot goodness; the tots stay crispyish in the bottom of the hot bowl while getting all the topping goodness.
Eggs Benedict: I’m a bene snob - it took me three brunches to work up to trying it - and wow did it win me over! Great Hollandaise, very nicely portioned, and the ratio of bright/savory/citrus/home is perfect.
Breakfast Pizza: I remember getting breakfast pizza with my dad in the Midwest. Salty bacon, crispy but chewy crust, the umami of the cheese and eggs… and this is almost a perfect replica. I think they either make their own crust or changed providers, because the last time it was slightly more fluffy/crispy than chewy/crispy, both are great regardless.
Brunch Drinks: Bloody Mary! It isn’t just a boring mix; there is thought in the spice profile which is dynamic and the accoutrements are plentiful with (olive, pepperoni, cheese, bacon) but at the same time not the crazy mary that tries to serve you a cheeseburger.
Watermelon Tequila Spritz: this is my go to. Bright, not too sweet (thank you!) and fresh. Tequila taste is subtle, and it is definitely a good brunch drink.
Auntie’s Hazelnut Ice Coffee: the perfect boozy hazelnutty coffee, warm in feeling and cooling in temp — refreshing to find a hazelnut coffee that isn’t too sweet (even with the big topping of whipped cream!)
Added benefit: I have an onion/alium sensitivity - if I eat much (any amount of any onions if not cooked to proper caramelization) I’m sick for the rest of the day - no matter how much I like them. At BSBG, I’ve never had a problem finding something I could have, and if I ask for no onions they are always very accommodating. Their breakfast potatoes are cooked with onions and peppers. I got lucky once by being there before the chef finished prep so I got to try some that were without onion (sooooo good!) I wish I could have the...
Read moreWhat initially attracted me to this place were a few one-star reviews. I had been coming here regularly for three months spending $150-$200/week not including keno, and had great experiences—until I encountered the same issue others complained about: rude staff.
The food is solid (4 stars), and Molly (bartender) is excellent (5 stars). She’s a true professional and should be running the place. However, the other bartenders, including the manager, prioritize serving people they personally know, even if those customers arrive later.
The breaking point for me was when I sat at a high-top table, as I had many times before. Despite 10 empty tables, the bartender immediately told me, “You cannot sit here,” without asking if I was expecting others. I moved to the bar and noticed that two other solo patrons were allowed to sit at high-tops—because they were regulars the staff liked.
To top it off, another customer loudly mocked my meal, and the fish I ordered was not fresh. They weren't lying though, the fish was not fresh and stunk up the whole bar area. After spending hundreds here over months, I realized that if you don’t personally know the manager, you don’t matter. I still respect the kitchen and Molly, but I...
Read moreBrothers Sports Bar and Grill offers a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding with friends or catching a game. My recent visit was nothing short of delightful, thanks to their simple yet incredibly satisfying fare.
I opted for a classic combination of buffalo wings and fries. The wings were perfectly cooked, boasting a crispy exterior that gave way to juicy, tender meat. The buffalo dry rub had just the right balance of heat and tang, making each bite a burst of flavor. Accompanying the wings were golden, crispy fries that were seasoned to perfection.
However, the standout of the meal was the blue cheese dressing. I've sampled many variations of this classic dip, but Brothers' rendition was exceptional. The dressing was generously studded with the biggest lumps of blue cheese I've ever encountered. Each bite offered a creamy, tangy richness that paired perfectly with the spicy wings.
Brothers Sports Bar and Grill combines great food with a welcoming ambiance, making it a must-visit for anyone in Tewksbury. Whether you're a sports fan or just looking for a casual dining experience, this spot delivers on all fronts. Highly...
