I'm mezzo Siciliano (but tutto Italiano), and let me tell you, the food and drinks at Café Sicilia are truly breathtaking! It's more Italian-American fare than it is Italian (one of their best dishes, the Homemade Toasted Ravioli, was invented in St. Louis, Missouri), but it's still quite possibly the best Italian-American food I've had in Massachusetts. Heck, the only place I can think of that does "classic Italian" better charges twice as much money for half the portion size. Anyway, in addition to the Homemade Toasted Ravioli, I got the Assorted Seafood Pasta with their homemade fusilli, and it was so incredibly tasty. The tomato sauce was delightful, and both the pasta and the scallops were cooked to perfection, neither overcooked nor undercooked. The Amalfi Coast blew me away with its tastefully fruity flavors and its uncanny resemblance to the waters of the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Seas (seriously, it's like they scooped it up and put it in a glass). I rounded out my meal with the Spumoni Bomba and a perfect pour of espresso, and I'm not even joking, my entire three-course meal complete with alcoholic beverage and hefty dessert came out to a mere sixty bucks or so. I feel like a thief. Oh, and not to mention, the service was excellent, too! I'm definitely coming back, and if you haven't tried this place yet, you...

2 words: HOMEMADE GRAVY!!! (Owners are a husband&wife team from Italy and East Boston and "GRAVY" is the word we East Boston Italians use for red sauce, marinara) We love the homemade Italian gravy done right, like my Nonnie& Nonno from Italia, specifically Sicily! They also make great white sauce (Alfredo) if you're not in the mood for red. Everything is delicious but I personally always go for their excellent meatball subs (as an Italian I cannot have meatballs that aren't traditional-Italian homemade all from scratch done right); they use delicious fresh ingredients including the most important topping for us Italians: the fomaggio!! (parmesan or romano cheese!!!), they have fresh cold cuts for subs and hot plate specials that are a treat too, and the desserts/gelato are to die for-I get a chocolate gelato every time! It's a very quaint cozy Euro-style tiny little place with a few tables and I always prefer eating right there like im.in grandma's Kitchen, but take-out is available. It's very family-owned mom&pop and the fact that it's not a corporate chain is another bonus! We need more...

Went here a week ago on a Monday night, because it was my daughter's 6th birthday and she loves pasta!! Saw it had a 4.8 star review and I said we have to try this ,maybe it a secret little jem. Wrong! was disappointed with my meal . First off I did order the Sicilian antipasto which was Delicious, but our meals came out so fast had barely enough time to finish /enjoy it. I ordered penne with chicken parmesan. Portions were big but could have used more sauce and no one was around to ask for more. The chicken parmesan was luke warm and even colder as I got to the center . Sounded like a microwave heated that up from the kitchen . My daughter is 6 thought we were getting a kids meal but got normal portions she added meatballs which were delicious but she would have liked more sauce too for the amount of pasta. My wife did enjoy her chicken fettuccini, and that tasted good. The last thing I didn't expectct is we drink water and they didn't offer glasses and you had to pay for water out...

I got the rum runner and my fiance got a Manhattan, they were good. The bread and oil was fresh, and my fiance enjoyed his veal Parmesan. I got the carbonara special...unfortunately, the sauce was very runny and it had a very bitter after taste. I really wanted to love it, as that's my favorite Italian dish, but it missed the mark for me. Maybe I'll try something else in the future. Update- I reached out to the restaurant and they agree there was a kitchen mishap. We will be returning to try more items!

Antipasto salad and garlic bread with cheese. Surprised they didn't have a house dressing instead of packets of Ken's and the size was pretty small. Garlic bread was garlicky, but soaked wet and smushed. I'll have to try a meal next time to see what everyone is raving about.
