Standard diner look and feel. Tried lunch on two different occasions and just could not eat the whole meal due to quality and taste not because we were not hungry. Had chicken fried steak and the meat was so thin and it was like eating beef jerky that was deep fried. Second time went with a burger and it was dry and not any better than burger king which is not a compliment. They advertise a bakery so the other night we just walked in and bought a few pieces of cake to bring home.. We saw a few pieces of blueberry lemonade cake left and asked if it was fresh and she said it was made on a Monday and this was a Friday. Well we passed and ordered their Italian Cream and a Strawberry cake. There was at least 2/3 of cake left of both so we figured they must be fresh. We got home and ate them a few hours later. They were dry as can be and not a lot of flavor. My guess is bakery means Betty Crocker and can icing and they don't throw them out after a few days in order to serve freshness but instead keep them out until they are gone which is not what a bakery does. Perhaps breakfast is good here or their mexican food since this place is owned and run by people south of the border. We won't be back. There is a new lunch diner a few blocks away so we are going to give...

I wish the owner cared more about this business. Walked in at first we thought yep this is gonna be a good place. Being from Texas city I have never been here. No changing table in restroom had to change niece on floor. Then when waitress was taking Our order she could not tell us what was the in the grilled veggies and acted like we were bothering her. When she was done the table next to us had to tell her there was an older gentleman that had been waiting for a while. Well she didn’t Like that. When she was behind the counter her and the older waitress started talking about all 3 of our tables. We were amazed at how much we could hear. Especially the part about how she would not get fired because they need to keep the place running. I work in a kitchen in a prison as a supervisor and I have inmates that do better work them these two yahoos. It’s sad that Texas City has one cafe and...

We were there for breakfast this morning. Would not recommend. The waitress never checked on us and I had to go to the counter every time we needed something. For instance, ketchup for the chicken strips. I ordered the 1,2 and 3 breakfast. There was hair cooked into my bacon. I called the waitress over and asked if I could just get what was on the plate replaced bc of the hair. She said no. Keep it and we'll replace the bacon. SHE LEFT THE HAIRY BACON WITH ME..I had to move it to a napkin bc it was gross. She brought new bacon but never wanted to take the other bacon back. Additionally, they are over priced. We ordered a biscuit it was $3 by itself and it was your average...

So far I have been here twice and I gotta say it is way too good. Iv lived here for at least 12 years and Iv always wondered if this place was any good, now I know it is and if I had the money I would come here everyday. I hade the chicken club sandwich (grilled) and the other day I had berries n creme French toast. Best breakfast ever.

I concur w/ published comments, staff was friendly, accommodating and talkative. Being the 1st time DEFINITELY will return, portions (bfast) was large and authentic-TexMex. Salsa was so appetizing bought a quart for home. Yes, Claudia-Manager was pleasant & took the time to inform our table the 40yr restaurant history

Reasonably priced, diner food with some Tex-mex on the menu. It’s nice for something local. Pecan Banana pancakes had a nice hint of cinnamon but probably could have added bananas on top, same for the blueberry. Rico’s club sandwich was ok, but missing that middle piece of bread for a true club. Friendly staff!
