This is my second negative experience so I figured it's time to review. I ordered take-out via phone, and arrived about 5 minutes early to pick it up. I paid, and the employee said that they would let me know when the pizza was ready.
I sat down at the table near the cashier and started waiting. I watched all others in the restaurant and the staff in the kitchen, so I had plenty of time to make an honest assessment. There were several other people in the restaurant waiting for pizza, but in general, they were not that busy. As I watch the pizzas being made, there was only one person making pizzas, so it was a huge bottleneck trying to get the pizzas in a timely fashion. I continue to watch the other four employees there that night, insulted we're very disengaged and more interested in talking with each other. No one was out walking the floor to make sure customers were okay.
I continue to wait as I watched other people continue to come in to pick up pizzas but they weren't ready. There were others in the restaurant before me waiting so I didn't think too much of it and continue to wait. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting, I talk to the cashier. I asked him how much longer it would be before the pizza is ready, and he said "oh it's been ready I didn't know you were here". I replied, "I gave you my money and you said you would let me know when it's ready." No sincere apology was offered, and by the time I got home the pizzas were barely warm.
I could understand the issue have they been busy, however last time I was here I had a very similar experience and neither time were they busy. This place needs to look at the kitchen preparation workflow to find a way to get two people making pizzas. In addition, the pickup/takeout process needs refined to increase customer engagement so customers are not waiting for cold pizza. Employees need to focus on the customers and not their own conversations.
I'm sure it has great reviews because the pizza is...
Read moreToday we stopped by this location after being turned away from Pizza Hut in Bulverde where the dining room is closed again. At 46th Street Pizza there is a large sign outside "Dining Room Open!" Good sign right?! We unload our 5 year old for the 2nd time in 10 minutes, walk inside only to be told "just so you know, our dining room is closed the rest of the day (2hr before closing, still bright outside). I could understand if being short staffed was the issue but at this restaurant you walk to the counter to order your food. No one else was there other than friends or co-workers of the kid at the counter just lounging around. I don't know what it is with people keeping their dining rooms closed but it's extremely frustrating when you have children to load and unload. The reason I'm posting about this location is that huge sign outside! Dining Room Open! Take it down! Put up a note on the door advising your dining room is closed or better yet, open the dang dinging room! You're a dine-in restaurant, not a Little Caesars! Horrible customer service. When I pointed out the huge sign I was...
