Update: It's been almost a year and the sushi has become way smaller. I don't order it any more. $11+ for a tiny roll. The average tekka maki roll at any sushi restaurant ranges from $4-$6. Sakura's is way overpriced at $8.50. I've never seen a spider roll over like $9, tops, for a huge one. Sakura wants us to pay $12.50. Please make these rolls the size of rolls at a purely sushi place to justify these prices, or lower the price by several dollars each! I'll be going to Sushi Seven and Sushi Zushi from now on, which sucks, because it's twice the drive.
We ordered some food last night like 20 minutes prior to closing and I was super (pleasantly) surprised at how good it was, especially that late. Most places I've tried around here, you can tell the food's been sitting under a heat lamp since lunch, and the closing time food is always nasty. I haven't gone back to those, lol. Sakura was seriously great. Very hot, very fresh. I could tell it was made right then, like it should be.
We got the veggie spring rolls (very crispy and not saturated in oil), hot and sour soup (good, and nice and hot, came with the crispy wonton things for the top), mushroom chicken (great sauce, good seasoning, didn't have to add soy sauce, chicken was amazing), and the pad woon sen (spot on). I also got a San Antonio roll (sushi) and it was good. Sushi prices are competitive and much better than having to drive 45 minutes total to go pick up Sushi Zushi.
Tl;dr: Prices were good. Food was hot. Not covered in grease. Fresh. Sushi was yummy. I give it an A+.
We'll be back soon! Again, great job. You're dominating the competition around...
Read moreOrdered summer roll, miso, tokyo roll, pork ramen. The summer roll and peanut sauce was good, the miso was not good..it was very sour tasting had one piece of tofu and two slivers of green onion, the tokyo roll was oddly hot and smelled terrible like bad fish, I tried one piece and had to choke it down..I threw the rest away...if I dont get sick from it I will be suprised. The pork ramen, bland broth, stale hard noodles, stale and dried out pork like it was on the verge of being jerky...it went in the trash. Called and asked to speak with the manager and answered saying what's your complaint?!he was a bit rude and had to tell him two times what was wrong. He offered 2 free appetizers on the next visit. Why would I waste any more money on a new restaurant with zero appreciation for what little customers they are getting right now, who should have offered a refund of at least the inedible food?! If an appropriate refund had been given, I would have tried something else at another time. However, after literally throwing away 40 bucks on inedible food, hoping to get real customer service concerning the major issues and didnt, I strongly caution against eating here! You're much better off at a place you...
Read moreI ordered online. I made a mistake with the address and the building address was one off from mine. Apt number was correct. I called them an hour and 40 minutes after my order was placed. She said the order had just been delivered, an old lady answered the door and accepted the food. In talking to her she told me I put my address in incorrectly and there was nothing they could do. The most they could do was when the delivery driver came back they could have them go back to the address and try to get the food then deliver it to me.
I get that I may have entered my address wrong, but they should have checked when delivering it to the person, confirmed it was the person who ordered it, not just handed it over. She refused to give me a refund or replacement. Just said they could go get the food from that person. (So she wants me to pay for food I never received and/or she wants me to eat something other people have touched/maybe eaten.)
They have horrible customer service and I will never go...
