August 2023:

Abby Jane Bakeshop was on my Austin Bucket Summer List.

After having lunch at brewery nearby my wife and I decided to search for this place. I navigated down a narrow gravel road passing one by my favorite places, Treaty Oak Distilling. I drove by large stacks of oak barrels until I spotted a small building housing the bakery.

Aesthetically it does not look much from the outside but inside felt something very special. There was a wall of glass where could see rows of tables where cooking classes are performed, merchandise and different types of flour to purchase, and a selection of baked goods and breads. The staff were busy doing their tasks where I concentrated to what I would select to take home with me.

I ordered a Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Blueberry Muffin. All items were packaged in a compostable containers.

Outside we met two ladies who actually traveled here just to come to Abby Jane Bakeshop. I was amazed where we just live down the road and thinking how good could this place be.

Once we got home I tasted each item and they were the best pastries I ever had. The Cinnamon Roll was huge and unlike a traditional twirly one where this one looked like a bun. The cookie was also large with bug chunks of chocolate. The muffin had a crispy sugary topping. They all were so delicious with a unique taste probably from the Barton Springs Mill flour.

It was all exceptional and wanted more where I can’t imagine how the breads must taste like and their cakes.

It is definitely worth a drive out here to experience this Hill...

Hi Everyone

Me and my family are doing a 2 day tour to Austin, Tx during the holiday break . “”Abby Jane bake shop “”was found before we started our trip. Hands down to this bakery, freshly baked bakery, balanced taste not too sweet , great coffee , fresh air while sitting outside and very peaceful surroundings and enjoyed our coffee and delicious sweets with family. Bread and pastries are freshly being prepared inside at the same time . Great customers service with a smile and caring people inside the bakery. We were not the only ones who drove from Dallas to dripping springs , Texas and A lot more people showed up after us while we were ordering our goodies too 😊 . This place was amazing, awesome as per my niece who loved it and meanwhile getting to this place the drive was amazing like beautiful scenery on the way great ranch areas on the way to this bakery. This place was a gem 💎 please do visit and appreciate this great bakery and you will enjoy your food and time being memorable. Thank you everyone we all loved ur delicious bakery and we also bought the different type of mill flour being sold that is used for different purposes.😊 Make sure you check the bakery hours before heading to this location because we got lucky they will be closed for...

Had high hopes given all the love in reviews. It was 30 minute ride from Southwest Austin to this location. All tables outside were full on arrival and when went out again after waiting in line for 20 minutes. Only the perimeter tables inside were occupied but the center ones are unlikely to be used since the counter line is impeding use. These tables should be removed and replaced with designated entry and exit. There is no signage for what pastries are available. Chalkboard menu inside and out would help move the line. Add signage if you folks to keep the doors closed.

Bakery items we tried: Ham and cheese croissant (flaky and tasty), pecan bar (tasty and crunchy), almond monkey bread (tasty but too gooey possibly not baked through), cinnamon roll (dense, and not too sweet), cinnamon raisin bread (too dense, dry
toasted was just ok wouldn’t buy again)

I wanted to try this location because I was interested in purchasing their flour. I could see they had bags of off to side but due to how busy it was and how we seemed to pushed along opted not to ask about it.

No handicap parking that...

Sooooo good. A beautiful place with a nice outdoor space with picnic tables in the shade. The inside is beautiful and the staff very friendly and happy to explain any item. As soon as you walk in, you can see the provided face masks and sanitizers. The decor is very contemporary and welcoming. Feels like walking into a cozy farmhouse. Everything we ordered was incredibly good. The espresso was great, as was the Iced Blueberry tea my wife ordered. We were both amazed by the ham and cheese croissant. My wife took a bite and said: this tastes like Spain. On the sweet side, I had a Queen "P" which is kind of a pecan muffin but with philo dough. Just incredibly good. I bought a full Big Country loaf which I will try tonight. Long story short, we will come back and try some of their cookies, scones, and definitely their pizzas. They have a housemade GF polenta crust that my wife wants to have. Next time.

Holy Fk this place is good. They mill their own grains (including heirloom corn!) Hadn’t seen or heard of Hopi Blue and Bloody Butcher in years since leaving a distillery job, but great to see it utilized here. The kolache (klobasnik style with sausage) is worth the price. For real. Get it. Eat it. The pastry is deliciously soft, buttery, and has that right chew. Beautifully done. And the sausage was perfectly spiced and had the right amount of cheddar! I ate it cold, but I know this pastry is also delicious hot. Service is quick but I’m glad I ordered online ahead. And the best part is that they don’t make your drink until you get there. So you don’t have to risk getting any watered down iced latte :) major props for that. Really cool space and across from the distillery.
