El Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Texas

I took my mother to eat here on a Sunday a few weeks ago, and right away this place earned 5 stars. However, I wanted to continue going here a few more times to see how consistent it was before leaving a review.

Every single time that I have gone back, I am always greeted by very friendly staff members; The local community that I have also gotten to meet while going there really surprised me — I never would have thought that the bar would foster such a genuine and positive customer experience. On both parts, the waiters, waitresses, and bartenders all have very pleasant communication, and are sincerely personable.

When you arrive at this location, you will also see that they follow health and safety standards very well, which makes the experience even better and more comfortable for those who are hesitant of going into restaurants.

My favorite dish, hands down, is the Enchiladas a la crema cilantro and chipotle. They prepare it very well and I have been picking up to-go enchiladas just about every Friday now. It’s been a slight splurge, ha.

If you haven’t tried this location and have been looking for good tasting Mexican food, I highly suggest you give “El Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Bar” a shot, and who knows, maybe someone will buy a shot for you, haha.

New place that opened close to where we live. Very nice setup all around. Andrea, the young Venozolana, was our server.

Ordered chips and salsa first. I like to eat my chips with Salsa Ranchera. ETMR's Salsa Ranchera, I will say, is the best kn town!!! And considering we were eating late at night!!!. Fresh and delicious!!!

My ladies ordered a Mangonada Margarita, 1800 Perfect Margarita. Perfect, Delicious adult drinks!!! I ordered a Long Island Tea and it tasted awful. I tried about three times to drink it, But no can do. The bartender just have seem my face because he immediately came and asked me about the drink. He took it away, brought me the remake at it was good!!!

I ordered the Enchiladas, and they were as perfect as how my wife makes them!!!! Impressee at their texture and taste. Beans and rice were also on point. So good that I didn't even add chile.

My wife ordered the Queso Flamiado and my young lady ordered the mini tacos. The Queso Flamiado's chorizo was a little burnt and overall, maybe too salty. But I would try it again, my wife liked it. My daughter said the mini tacos were very good.

Overall, awesome experience. Andrea was awesome and very nice in caring for us. Food was delicious and place was nice and clean.

El Tequila came highly recommended by our friends (who we met there fore dinner). We got there early enough to not have to wait for a table.

Chips/Salsa: chips are on the thicker side. I prefer a lighter crispier chip. Salsa has a bit of a kick, but had a burnt taste to it.

I ordered a strawberry margarita. I did not finish this. I wish I would have gotten just a house margarita. The strawberry one was so sweet.

Our table also ordered the queso, which again, was mediocre.

I ordered Jalisco Burrito with chicken. It actually made me pretty sick that evening. I did not eat my leftovers and threw them away.

My family ordered a Jalisco burrito with Asada, and that one was fine. My kids got the kids quesadillas and the Jalisco burrito with beef fajita.

Overall, there was nothing to write home about. I was really hoping to find a great Mexican Restaurant nearby our home to frequent more often, especially seeing the good reviews and the place being busy all the time.

Hoping we just had an off night, but we won't be returning for a while. Our friends (who eat here often) even said that tonight wasn't as good as the others. We visited on 7/30/2022. Might try again in a few months to see if things...
