We moved to Princeton in 2017 and this was the first mexican restaurant we visited and we fell in love. We’ve been regulars ever since. 3 words... Best. Margaritas. Ever. 3 more words ... Best. Happy. Hour. Ever. 11AM - 6PM Mon-Sat & ALL DAY Sunday. Fantastic service & delicious food every single visit. The owner and waiter/waitresses make you feel like your at home and your grandma is cooking in the kitchen. We’ve tried pretty much every single item on the menu and none of them disappoint. Our favorites include: Joe’s Favorite, Combo Fajitas, Poblano Relleno, Mexican Platter, Pollo A La Plancha ... we love that they’ll substitute rice and beans for veggies as a healthier option. We drive out of our way to visit this location to eat Mexican food because it is SO worth it!

First time here. They're still in a remodel process and due to their quality and popularity and I think they should build bigger. Absolutely excellent food! The salsa was delicious and just the right level of spicy. Chips were hot and unlimited. The chimichanga was full of meat. They didn't skimp out! The portions were perfect and it was very affordable. The restrooms are usable but unfinished for now. Not sure if I prefer they be finished or if I'm just happy I can use them. My only real complaint is it was loud due to the football on the TVs. It looks like it was a bar with food that is trying to expand into a restaurant. The atmosphere wasn't as suited to conversation. But overall we loved it and will go again!

This gem serves fantastic brisket tacos and quesadillas. Noms! Their margaritas are superb. The margaritas are even better when they borrow ice from Sonic (with that distinctive rough surface on the small, oval bits of ice). We have celebrated birthdays here, and celebrated the little things (like “end of the work day!”), because it’s small and welcoming, just like Wylie, and we always see friends there enjoying dinner when we go. The locals know and LOVE Jhonny’s. I hope they always stay at this location: it looks like a dive from the outside, and it’s already crowded enough seven days a week! 😂 Thank you for feeding us, Jhonny’s!

I had not visited Johnny's in awhile. We decided to give it another go. Chose to sit on the patio because inside is always so loud it's hard to have a conversation. There was only one other table sat on the patio, although it was a larger party.

When we sat at our table, we were greeted fairly quickly for our drink order, but unfortunately it went down hill from there.

My arms literally stuck to the table. I asked the server to please bring a rag (when he brought our drinks) to wipe off the table. It was still so sticky after he was done, I put a napkin down. The napkins would not come back up and literally stuck to the table ...the entire napkin.

It took the server awhile to come back for us to place our order.

When placing our order, the server asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. I told him thank you for asking and that I needed corn.

When our food came out, my tacos came out with flour tortillas so I had to send them back. The server was apologetic that the order came out wrong.

My shrimp tacos were cooked perfectly but lacked any seasoning at all.

I was really hoping this could be a go to place for us but between the gaps in service, my order being wrong and complete lack of cleanliness on the tables, don't know that we...

WOW. The food here was really amazing, and reasonably priced compared to what you would get at any typical Mexican restaurant. This is a true hole in the wall place to eat, but the food will not disappoint. The chips and salsa are pretty standard fare, but they also give you a cup of spicy avocado salsa to dip your chips in which tasted fantastic. The dish I got was the the Gordo's special, which included a sour cream chicken enchilada, a cheese enchilada and a ground beef enchilada with rice and refried black beans included. It was really fantastic. I especially appreciated the black beans versus normal refried beans.

The only part of our experience that was lacking was the waiter that we had. He was not very attentive, never offered to refill our drinks, and completely disappeared when it came time to give us the check. I even had to get up and ask one of the other staff to track down our waiter so we could get our check.

But other than that, it was a very good meal that we enjoyed very much and will almost certainly come...

My husband and I frequent Jhonny's in St. Paul, Tx. We normally ever have any issues with service or food. On Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, the service, food and night manager were extremely disappointing. Our food was brought out to us barely even warm. My order was input incorrectly by the bar host. Once we found her long after our food was brought to us, we let her know right away the issues with the order. She then went into the kitchen and spoke with the night manager, a Hispanic young female. After approximately 5 minutes later the bar host apologized on behalf of the manager and brought out some heated beans and rice only after we had finished our meal. This was supposed to fix our order? The manager never came and spoke with us nor apologized to us. As we were leaving all she said was have a good night. To the manager and staff; It only takes one time to make a bad impression that results in reviews...
