Tonight was a bit rough on this location, but they pulled through alright.
I arrived around 10 pm. The line was so long that it wrapped around the building with only the front unblocked. Naturally, cars who had waited before me that had not yet placed an order pulled out and left. I had my young child with me in the backseat. She really wanted the mcnuggets so I warned her of the wait. She said she'd wait so we continued to stay in line.
I could tell they were swamped from how long it took us to get from our position to place an order. I knew something was wrong when the cars ahead of me pulled forward two car lengths and my order had not yet been taken so I was stuck at the order kiosk.
When it was my turn, I asked for kids meal and then tried ordering the tomato mozzarella chicken sandwich from Canada's favorites advertised. I was very politely and apologetically informed that the chicken breasts prepared were sold out and cooking a new batch would take about 20 minutes. The wait had already reached about half an hour, so I changed my mind to a double quarter pounder with no pickles.
I was informed to pull up to the second window. Another 10 or so minutes went by when I pulled up to pay. Now I can visibly see the staff were really frustrated and doing their best to keep going. I was helped by a woman with long red, perhaps braided hair. She shouted back to the kitchen to inquire where my double quarter pounder with no pickles was located as there were other meals already waiting, but mine was missing - my child's kid's meal was ready.
Well, the act of shouting back instead of walking back appeared to upset one of the kitchen staff as if it was interpreted as a personal attack. The woman cashier was getting increasingly agitated and trying to explain she wasn't yelling at her coworker in that sense. As I also speak Spanish, I overheard someone say "Cristal, calm down." I presume Cristal is the one who felt yelled at. I also presume the stress of having such a rush was taking a toll on the team.
There was another young gentleman who was trying to give pointers to someone who was wearing a manager uniform. Perhaps this was a new manager struggling with reacting to the developing scene with Cristal, my delayed order that now put a dent in the momentum, and still having to deal with the cars behind me.
The woman cashier apologized profusely and it appears that the soda machine (or drink machine... the one where cups are placed for lidding and moving...) stopped working too - like the staff needed another problem. I tried to reassure her that me and mine were fine. I did request our drinks and the kids meal so my kid could go ahead and eat while I wait.
The scene with Cristal continued to unfold. There appeared to be another discussion of the woman cashier trying to explain she wasn't trying to yell at the other employee but only yelling to ask anyone where my order was as I was sitting at the window. More orders for after mine were produced during my wait so she loudly asked again where mine was. I agree the woman cashier wasn't yelling in anger at another co-worker, just frustrated and stressed from the missing order with the added stress of my continued delayed wait.
I offered to pull forward, but they informed me there is a safety policy that they can't open the door after x time when lobby is closed. I said ok and continued to wait.
Not long after that, the woman cashier moved to the cash registers in lobby area. The young gentleman with the voice I mentioned before, the one speaking with the assumed manager based on uniform, came to window and apologized some more. I tried to reassure him that we're ok. It was another 5-10 minute wait or so by this point. He had short black/brown hair and I think glasses. The woman cashier looked over to us and I tried to give her a thumbs up. Shortly after, he handed me our food. I asked him for some ranch which he promptly provided. the end
I gave 5*, not because of all the events that transpired, but to those two who tried: Thank you both for...

This is the first McDonald's I've been to that has had an entire room dedicated to the kids...I'm sure there are more, I just don't frequent it enough to notice. That said - my boys adore this location for its pretty spiffy play place. There is a huge play area decked out with an obstacle-type course (elevated play gym area), and even step-on instruments.. I'm inclined to say its more of a seating area with musical abilities rather than a toy itself, yet still interesting and attention grabbing...There are two fairly large gaming tables as well. One is a puzzle of sorts and the other is light up via touch. Coming from a family with two sensory kids, it was a nice sensory-aware approach!! As well, the play area itself was comfortable. There are soft mats in place instead of the typical floor and it appeared well maintained and quite clean. I also appreciated the larger cubby hole for storing shoes and other items, however, I'd still prefer to keep track of my kids' personal belongings myself and NOT leave them unattended.
There is plenty of seating - booths galore! Decent size seating that could easily accommodate a family of 6! There are a couple of televisions hanging on the walls that show cartoons/children's programming. Last we went, I wasn't too happy with the show (Spongebob - on Nickelodeon) and was glad my kids didn't tune in, but I'm pretty positive there were other children enjoying it nonetheless...
Now for the negative....
The bathroom was horrendous.. The floor was semi-sticky and the tables/floor in the eating area weren't too clean either. Not a usual sight when we've been here in the past, so maybe someone just missed the mark this time. I would say that that's not an excuse, seeing as though this is an area dedicated to families with children, so it should be clean at all times...
Won't review the food in depth - it's McDonald's. I will say that though - what we DID order was hot, fresh, and there were no concerns. The staff were pleasant and attentive. So, they get...
Read moreWe specifically would like to that our server Servando, at this location...he has been incredibly helpful and understanding. I will say his service & great attitude kept us ordering food. I swear I would have thought I was talking to management. Servando deserves a raise. The play place is always frustrating when trying to order food, bc usually I have a car full of kids, my lap top, wipes for the table, diaper bag... it's not fun to have to collect all the kids, and stuff to go stand at the counter while kids tell you on repeat they are staving... having food delived to the play area, keeps us ordering food...however... only 2 tables have numbers... the rest have qr code advertisements to order to table... but no where to scan on the app, nor a number to order to. The last 4 times we've come, we packed up and moved to chick fil a, bc it was too stressful trying to order and feed kids... thankfully Servando is on the clock today and he saved the day through 3 hours and 3 orders of food for our group so far.
-Prior to playplace opening back up a few months ago... The staff is always very friendly and we go by just to take the girls to get fries so they can say hi to whoever is working the windows. It will be nice when the play area...
