Sugar Llamas Magnolia — Restaurant in Texas

I was super excited to try this place, but I was extremely disappointed. Came on a Sunday morning around 10am.

There were 4 people behind the counter: 2 high school aged boys, one high school aged girl, and a slightly older woman. Before I'd even placed my order, a woman who'd been sitting down got up and asked, "Did you guys forget about us? We've been sitting here for a while and ordered before that other group (who was also sitting)." Three of the four people behind the counter just stared at her. Not apologizing, not asking her what she'd ordered, just blank stares. Finally the older woman, who was busy making the donuts looked up, apologized, and started working on their order.

Meanwhile, no one had even acknowledged me or asked if I had any questions and when I finally went to place my order, one of the boys just stared at me until I started ordering. There was no one else in line and the place was not busy. At all.

It took the 2 boys working together for almost 10 minutes to make my drink. Nothing complicated or out of the ordinary. A caramel macchiato. Which ended up tasting like milk with just a hint of coffee.

I understand they might be in training and that the place is still new, but neither one looked like they knew what they were doing or where anything was. There was no leadership or guidance, much less any customer service. And when they finally handed me my drink I had to ask for the free donut which is supposed to come with every drink order.

All in all, an awful experience and waste of money. It's a cute place and a cute concept, but they really need to spend more time training their staff and pushing customer service. I plan to give them another chance because 1) the other reviews were positive, and 2) I don't care for Sweetwater a few doors down, but it'll be a while. And definitely won't be...

Love love loved this place! We were looking for a quick coffee before grocery shopping so we looked coffee shops on Google and found this one. We were surprised with coffee and more! They have donuts that are Increddddible! And the flavors were amazing. We got the hazulnetta or something like that.. it was the Nutella and vanilla flavor. And also the fruity pebbles ones. We got caramel frappes and those were amazing too! In highly recommend and we almost went back a second time same day 😍 5/15 Wanted to come back and edit my original review. After our first visit we had been craving sugar llamas so we took a trip before we grocery shopping again and it did not disappoint. We LOVE and crave this place! I took the kids for some ice cream. They only had 6 out of 12 flavors available. That was a little disappointing. They said that they didn't anticipate selling as much as they did opening week and were waiting on more ice cream to be shipped. We got some ice cream and a box of 16 donuts. The ice cream was good. The kids loved the donuts, but I personally didn't love them. They're not like typical donuts. They were soft, but a little greasy. They were ok.
