I just had another fantastic meal at Wasabi Bistro in the heart of the Woodforest community in Montgomery, and I can’t stop raving about it. This place has quickly become my go-to for consistently delicious food and a genuinely enjoyable dining experience. First off, the location couldn’t be more convenient. Whether you live in Woodforest or you're just in the Montgomery area, it’s an easy spot to get to. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is just right: modern, clean, and inviting. It feels elevated enough for date night or a celebratory dinner, but still relaxed and comfortable for a casual sushi fix on a random Tuesday. There’s a warm, friendly energy that makes you feel right at home. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible. The sushi is always fresh, beautifully plated, and generously portioned. I’ve sampled quite a few rolls, and their signature ones—like the Volcano Roll—never disappoint. The flavors are balanced, the ingredients are top-notch, and you can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. And it's not just sushi. The Thai side of the menu is equally impressive. Their Pad Thai is hands-down one of the best I’ve had in the area—bright, tangy, perfectly sauced, and bursting with flavor. The Drunken Noodles and curry dishes are equally delicious. It’s rare to find a spot that excels at both Japanese and Thai cuisine, but somehow Wasabi Bistro pulls it off. What really keeps me coming back—beyond the food—is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They remember regulars (which I guess I am now!) and are always happy to make recommendations or chat about the menu. Whether I’m popping in for a quick lunch at the sushi bar or settling in for a slower dinner out on the patio, I always feel taken care of. And the value? Totally on point. The quality of the ingredients and the consistency in execution more than justify the prices. Every meal feels like money well spent. Honestly, Wasabi Bistro checks every box: amazing and diverse food, great atmosphere, attentive service, and a prime location. Whether I’m craving fresh sushi or something spicy from the Thai menu, I know I’m in for a great meal. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is absolutely worth the drive—every single time. I’ll be back again soon… probably way too soon.

My friends and I went here on a girls night out the miso soup had no tofu or seaweed which equated to being served warm water. The calamari were chewy and looked like soggy leftover onion rings. My friend and I both ordered a shaggy roll, my friend’s roll was fine but mine looked sloppy and tasted awful. I sent mine back telling the waiter I didn’t like it. This is when the manager came over to harass us, she insisted the restaurant did nothing wrong and that it was my fault for not liking it. The manager left and sent the kind waiter to tell us that despite practically sending the entire roll back we would have to pay for it because it was my fault I didn’t like it. I told the waiter that I would not be paying for something that we did not eat. The manager came back around to further harass us. I told her we were not here to fight with her and informed her that we just had a negative dining experience. Nevertheless, she kept defensively ranting, insisting on having the last word. I did eventually get my roll comped but it wasn’t before hearing the manager tell me it was my fault for not liking the sloppy and poorly made roll.

We came for lunch on a weekday. Very nice, clean friendly staff. Most importantly very good food, but with 1 substantial issue. Appetizers were great; tempura is fried perfect, gyoza were nicely browned. Lunch bento were a great variety for the kids. I got the chirashi and here is where the issue was - the rice. With an Asian upbringing we take rice seriously, different grains for different purposes and dishes. For sushi, you'd expect short grain sticky rice, that holds together. As opposed to a Chinese long grain where the grains, purposefully, separate from each other. My chirashi was made especially difficult to eat because I should be able to get a piece of fish, a clump of rice and it holds together - unfortunately, this was not the case (-1 star). Becsuse I was there lunch, we didn't try any nigiri, but I'm hopeful the rice holds together. Perhaps the wrong rice was scooped into the chirashi bowl, and this is just a one off issue. That said, everything was delicious and I would return. If I find that this was just an isolated issue I'll update the review.

My husband and I wanted to love this place but unfortunately left disappointed. He ordered sushi, our kids had chicken fried rice and I ordered beef lo mein. The sushi and rice came very quickly and my lo mein came 10 minutes later. The dish itself was very hot like it had been microwaved. The noodles were mushy and tasteless, the beef was dry and chewy, and the vegetables tasted over cooked as well. I then waited 10 more minutes to successfully flag down our waiter to have them take it back and then another 5 minutes for a manager to come over. She did understand and offered to replace it but by that time my family had already finished eating so I just had it taken off the ticket. About 5 minutes into my drive home I became very ill. As the night went on I felt worse and worse. It got to the point where I couldn't even keep water down and still causing me issues this morning. I really think the dish was sent back, set to the side and then reheated when I had ordered it. I normally give places a 2nd chance but when i get food poisioning from somewhere I make sure to...
