I went into this place just minutes after 10 on Friday night. I asked if they were closing early and a gentleman (dressed like a manager) looks over to asked a couple of young ladies at the bar and they said no, they would remain open until posted closing time ( I assumed). I went to get my family out of the car. When I came back there were a couple young ladies folding dinnerware, I asked if they were still serving and just like my first encounter, the shifty eyes started. The look that one employee gives to another as if to say " I wish they would go". Her reply was " I'm just tired" my response was I hope I don't get tired service. She led us across the room to a booth were she simply walked over a pile of trash and away. My small family and I sat a moment before noticing that the employees at the computer were looking back at us, then start whispering. We are now very convinced that we came at a bad time. We get up and leave. Check your cameras to confirm my story please and just know that all of those employees just lost my business at this location. If you say you close at 11 on a Friday be prepared to work until 12 or 1 a.m. Lazy business's close down daily including chain restaurants. In the future please inform new applicants that they are required to at least work their hired for position. Waitresses wait, greeters greet, bartenders pour it up and managers manage. Btw we...
Read moreThis was my experience at El Paso Mexican Grill, on “Taco Tuesday” at that. With that being said I’ve heard nothing but good things this visit was anything but that our server Rogelio was not attentive and nonchalant he did not care for us (black women) he sat us at and dirty table and when I informed him about the table he waved his hand and told us just move to another table. After being there for 15-20 he sat another table at the “dirty” he promptly cleaned for the Caucasian guests he sat and seemed more cheerful serving them I asked for more salsa and bean dip along with some napkins. He passed by us multiple times so I had to flag him down for the things I requested. He bring the other their food while looking me in the eyes because he knew we were there before them and had already ordered the kid burger was broken amd didn’t look appetizing so we asked him to take it back he didn’t offer any replacement or tried to replace the child’s meal. I asked for the manager, Elmer, and when they came over they were smiling in each other’s faces like they were friends. Elmer didn’t offer a resolution just a dry “my apology” will not be going back to...
Read moreDining experiences at El Paso restaurants in Houma, LA has always been an outing our family looks forward to. [Based on Houma location]
Thibodaux Location:
Pros: Above average food with reasonable pricing given the level of the chain. Clean and convenient location. Regarding food—I enjoyed the refried beans and salsa, appetizers, more than the entrée.
Cons: Managerial issues—Substandard staff. Lacks an inviting atmosphere when greeting customers. Our server exhibited a lackadaisical attitude with an overall disposition of ready to leave instead of ready to serve. I.e.- We were left waiting for considerable amounts of time, to the degree that I went speak with the manager and stated that I prefer to just pay for the drinks, and cancel the food.
As a result of the manager’s singular sense of professionalism, we stayed and made the best of the experience. It is for this reason I increased this review from 1 to 3 stars.
