I really want to like La Casa because who doesnât want more great Mexican places to eat, not to mention the patio could be a fun place to eat, drink and listen to live music, but every time we go, we leave disappointed.
Recently, friends of ours from out of town wanted to go to see a specific band play. As we left the restaurant, they said âthis is the first time Iâve ever eaten here and definitely the last.â
Itâs similar issues every time. The waiter brought one menu for the 4 of us to share and when asked for a drink menu, just said âweâre waiting for them to be printedâ. Why not offer a âtry our margaritas, theyâre greatâ or âwe make a goodâŚâŚ..â as an alternative.
We were checked on so infrequently, we had to get up multiple times to find someone to get refills, ask for the check and pay the check.
The food is just as bad. The chips arenât fried tortilla chips like all other Mexican restaurants, theyâre just plain, cold, bought from the grocery store chips. But the strangest part is their salsa. Itâs literally warmed up spaghetti sauce. It tastes and smells like jar spaghetti sauce. Check out other reviews, especially yelp, youâll see lots of spaghetti sauce comments, itâs extremely odd.
The beans are usually OK, the rice is slightly hard and the rest of the food is surprisingly bland and sometimes doesnât taste as fresh as other Mexican restaurants.
Thereâs other options in town which offer consistently great tasting food and an...
Read more$80!!!!! For fajitas (less than two pounds), veggies, 6 tortillas, and chips and salsa (that they did not put in our pick order!!!!). When we called to say they had not given us our chips and salsa, we were told to (just come pick it up) because it's our responsibility right?! Now let's talk about the fajitas........ I don't know who owns/runs this place but do your research!!!! Fajitas are grilled meat!!!!!!! What we received was boiled or oven cooked meat and veggies! Not to mention NO FLAVOR!!!! $80!!!!!!
Pretty sad when you are charging that amount for that kind of service. Even more sad that damn Taco Bell can do better for $10đ.
Just so you know I'm not one to usually complain but this was ridiculous. But hey, as long as the drunk college kids are happy...
Read moreI started with Casa Del Sol when it was called Constancio's. In those days ( around 1974) Constancio would serenade his customers, walking among the tables playing his guitar and singing. He was very good. When you entered, the first things you were brought were the chips and a terrific frijole dip with melted cheese on the surface. The dip is still excellent, different than others, but it's no longer automatic; Maybe because it's no longer Constancio's and is now a chain by another name. My favorites were and are, the chicken tostados ( a wonderful salad on a crisp corn tortilla) and the enchilada suizas. So much for the ancient history. La Casa Del Sol is still my favorite...
