y’all haven’t been to Off The Hook, you’re missing out on some seriously good eats. I went all in with their Roast Beef Po’Boy and the Seafood & Chicken meal, and let me tell you—every bite was something to remember.
That Roast Beef Po’Boy was straight-up perfection. The bread was soft and toasted just right, loaded with tender, slow-cooked roast beef smothered in rich, savory gravy. It was messy, dripping with flavor, and every bite melted in my mouth. That’s the kind of sandwich you need extra napkins for, but it’s worth every bit of it.
Then came the Seafood & Chicken plate—fried to golden, crispy perfection. The seafood had that perfect crunch on the outside, but inside? Juicy, fresh, and seasoned just right. And the fried chicken? That first bite hit with a crispy snap, followed by the kind of juicy, well-seasoned goodness that makes you close your eyes and just enjoy the moment.
By the time I was done, I was full but still thinking about the next time I could come back. If you love good, Southern-style food that hits every time, Off The Hook is the spot. Don’t sleep on it!
The ambiance at Off The Hook is casual and welcoming, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors seeking authentic Louisiana flavors. In addition to the Roast Beef Po'Boy, the menu offers a variety of seafood and chicken dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone.
For dessert, many patrons recommend trying the T-Boy Toast, described as a "very...
Read moreI have been on a journey trying to find the best fried catfish in Louisiana, and had to stop by and try this place. I was a little skeptical about this place being that it seemed to be fast-food-like, and feared the service and food being bad as any conventional fast-food restaurant, but I got proven wrong this afternoon. I walked in and felt similar to a fast-food restaurant but with a very nice Cajun restaurant vibe, a perfect merging of both. The young lady in the front was very sweet asking me what I wanted with such a southern hospitality that characterizes Louisiana. I ordered the catfish platter, which included a substantial amount of fried catfish, french fries and hush puppies. The fries were hot and crispy. The catfish was very well seasoned, and I think it’s one of the best fried catfish seasonings I have had so far, no regrets. One thing I would’ve liked in the catfish that would’ve made it phenomenal would’ve been a crispier breading, some parts of my fish were crispy and others a little soggy, but overall great great taste. Hush puppies, I can’t even talk - I think they are the best hush puppies I have had so far - crispy on the outside, soft inside with pieces of corn and a perfectly sweet corn taste to it, they were the stars, bad thing my plate just had three, but next time I will make sure to order extra...
Read moreUPDATE: increasing review to 4 stars as recent visits have been satisfactory and staff appear to be following sanitized measures. Had family in from out of state who really enjoyed the food. Off the Hook would be a great franchise to grow all over LA and out of state.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: First let me start with all the great things of Off the Hook. The food is delicious, fresh, and quickly served. The restaurant is cajun authentic.
The reason this review wasnt higher rated was because of our most recent experience. We were in the drive thru. After paying, I watched the staff inside preparing food and cleaning the work area. In particular one employee swept up the floor and handled trash all while wearing gloves. This same employee went straight from janitorial tasks to preparing food, never changing his gloves. I spoke to the manager who gave me a refund as I had requested.
I hate that this had happened. Possibly one bad apple but hoping it doesn't spoil the whole Off the Hook experience for us.
I value that the windows are see thru. It helps ensure the staff are operating cleanly. We will go back but hope this message helps educate employee practices in...
