Kampachi Sushi & Hibachi — Restaurant in Thibodaux

We have been here before and we’re honestly looking forward to dining here during our visit to Thibodaux. Unfortunately, our experience this time was not the same. The service was truly disappointing. I’m assuming since the gratuity is automatically added at the hibachi tables our waitress didn’t find it important to check on us or clean-up empty plates. We did it ourselves. We had to bring a drink back to the bar ourselves (and the staff there was MOST helpful). We ordered sushi rolls as appetizers which arrived AFTER we had our soup and salad (with the hibachi). The seafood was so salty it was difficult to eat and some of our party didn’t even eat their lobster. We spent $300 between two couples and the food wasn’t worth it. We left more food on our plates than we consumed and it was because we knew it wouldn’t get eaten later. Such an expensive mistake on our part choosing this establishment. We did enjoy the sushi, but the rest of the evening fainted even tbat good aspect. I’m not extremely familiar with Thibodaux, but I have to believe there are better options for Japanese cuisine than kampachi. If you work hard for your money, like we do, proceed waringly. When we spend that much money on a meal, I am truly hoping it’s worth it. I feel like so much food and money was...

Greetings everyone...allow me to share our family experience at Kampachi.

My family was greeted with a warm and inviting smile as we were seated in a timely manner. Immediately I notice on display in a artsy kind of way a variety of appetizers and entrees for consideration. Since this was our first time I was intrigued to try a few .

Our awesome and extremely informative server, Paula, not only from years of experience and first hand knowledge recommended several of our courses to try. She explained each one as she showed great care in answering our questions, while sharing which were her personal favorite. She also brought a varity of dipping sauces to sample along with each course.

I never had to ask for anything. Paula was very attentive to her tables and knew before hand what would be needed after the initial orders were taken.

The food was excellent in taste, temperature, presentation, cost and size. My daughter and I shared most of our food and was not overly full. We were comfortably satisfied with the ambiance, service experience and the management. We shall return for more.

Without a doubt the best Hibachi and Japanese food I've ever eaten anywhere. It's hard to believe that in such a small town in south Louisiana you will find the best Japanese--but start believing it. Service is top notch--my wife and I have never had a bad experience with any of the wait staff. We are always seated promptly and treated with kindness. The owner and the manager are always walking around to make sure everything is fine at EVERY table and thanks you for coming and welcomes you back. The food is superb. I'm a huge sushi guy and I am always interested in trying out the vastly different combinations they come up with. The hibachi side of things--I have witnessed many of their chefs and personally they have all been perfect. The food was always done exactly how I requested. If you are looking for a great Hibachi or Sushi place--this is the best the world...
