Very disappointing experience! I sat down at the bar to place a take out order. I was immediately greeted and waitress began to take my order. In the middle of taking my order she stopped to take a phone call and take an order over the phone without even excusing herself. Then she finished taking my order which was 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fountain drinks and 1 order of fries. I then had to sit there and wait for almost 50 minutes to get my order. Very upsetting especially with the fact that I had the bill in front of me within 5 minutes of making the order and she was ready to take my method of payment. Then I get back to work, which is no more than 5 minutes away from the restaurant, and the burgers are somewhat warm at best and the fries are cold! And the burgers were not even fixed like they were ordered! This was not the first time that the service was questionable for me and my family when dining at this restaurant but it will be the last. Absolutely zero reasons that it should have taken so long to get my order and $37 later it especially should have been all correct being that it did take so long! This restaurant will not be getting any more of...
Read moreWe had an amazing time here at Gina's. Our food was delicious and fresh. For an appetizer we had onion rings and a cup of crab corn soup. The onion rings are really thin and crispy , which is so delicious! The cup of soup was a bit cheesy. For the meal I had a shrimp poboy and a piece of my mom's catfish! ( How could I not ! It's fresh Louisiana catfish ) Absolutely DELICIOUS!
The shrimp on my poboy and the fish gave me a very similar taste to how the fried shrimp and fish used to taste like at politz. I was so happy about that. We were told by the waitress at politz that they no longer serve Louisiana catfish. Which was really sad to hear , and taste. With this visit at Gina's at the Legion I now no longer have to worry about what place to go to get some good ole Louisiana seafood when I'm back in town.
When I was younger Gina used to run a snowball stand that us all in St. Charles Community would support. It was great to continue to support her restaurant. Thank you Gina for all of your great dishes and memories that came...
Read moreThe restaurant decor was definitely dated. Seems like the building is also American Legion meeting place. Very spacious not cozy if that’s what you’re looking for. Also was unusually dark for lunch. Menu was mostly seafood but did have meat dishes. Lunch servings were large and enough to bring some home. Food was very good. Entrance to the restaurant is in the back of the American legion building by the Carrot Patch. Limited paved parking. I was told to park somewhere else because I was in the driveway. Didn’t seem like one but moved and parked on the grass. When we left there were traffic cones designating the driveway so must have been a continuing problem. Many of the parking spots were labeled handicap and Carrot Patch. Everyone one...
