LC's Sports Bar — Restaurant in Thomasville

I was very sad to learn that even in an amazing little town like Thomasville that not everyone is able to feel welcome. It was very clear that not everyone is welcome at LC's Bar. Besides my bf being the only one ID'ed at the door as the one black person in the party and the rest not being ID'ed even though he clearly is over 21 and the rest of us were not as clearly over 21. He was greeted inside by someone saying "whats that n* doing here".I have nothing but love for Thomasville but to hear this in such an otherwise charming town was disheartening to say the least. In a great Christian town like Thomasville I would have expected to have seen a little more love. In the words of Matthew 5:44 "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you". This place was very, very welcoming to out of state people. We were apparently not one of the natives if you can follow my hint, but by the time we were forced to leave due to flight demands, we were family. I hope beyond hope I'm able to return here soon or at some point for the simple fact that in today's world there are many falsehoods put on who people are albeit due to region or plain ignorance. This establishment crushes any of those silly inflammatory notions that people of different cultures and/or ethnicities have nothing in common. I come to Thomasville to visit family often. Saturday nights, I always get the hankering to go out. Years ago, this place sucked but the last few times I went it's been newly renovated and they even have karaoke now! GOOD PROFESSIONAL karaoke, too! This last time was really fun, tons of people. The bartenders were busy but very attentive. This may be a central Florida thing, but the only thing I would change is the fact that they call last call so soon.
