JJ Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Thornton Township

It was a little after 9:00pm on a Saturday, when I spotted this J & J Restaurant. I went inside to place my order and was immediately impressed by its cleanliness. The floor, tables/seats, counters and the food preparation area...all very clean.

The young woman that took my order was friendly and courteous. There was only one person ahead of me, however, some people had phoned in their orders, so there was a waiting period. I didn't mind because the time went so quickly. Also, unlike other J & J's, this one has a drive-thru.

I ordered 3 dinners to go; a small jack salmon, a small ocean perch and a 6 pc. chicken wing dinner. Extras included an order of fried okra, hush puppies and a corn on the cob (a full size ear). Each dinner included: French fries, a very small cup of coleslaw and 2 slices of white bread in addition to the mild and hot sauce they provide.

The fish was fried to perfection, light and crispy, not greasy. The chicken was also fried to perfection, crispy and not hard or greasy. All the side dishes were well prepared. Since none of us eats coleslaw or white bread, I can't speak about them.

As for being different, in addition to its drive-thru, this J & J offers a variety of foods that I've never seen offered in any of the others; tacos, spaghetti, and a selection of salads, just...

I was driving through town and saw they opened a new location I wanted to try a couple pieces of fish & chicken and see where they stand their menu has dinners and buckets of chicken and fish like catfish tapia ocean perch Buffalo fish for dinners everything comes with a can of pop and french fries to me not everybody's interested in consuming that it'd be nice if you could just order two or three pieces of chicken or fish plain without being charged for the pop and fries it could have used some flavor some seasoning something that sets it apart My two-piece ocean filets was $9 since I didn't want the pop and the french fries I feel there wasn't a value there and the chicken dinner I don't have terrible things to say about their chicken but I would add some seasonings or have different sauces to choose from so I could visit more often everyone has their own taste give it a try and see how it goes for you I will come back to try the...

On Sunday July 20th at around 9pm, an order was placed for two orders of legs & thighs and two italian beef sandwiches. We only received the sandwiches from the UBER eats courier. When we called restaurant to ask what happened, the woman who answered the phone was unprofessional and sarcastic. She said two different things. First she said the chicken went out. Later she said they never got the order in system despite the fact we were tracking two different orders to same address under the same courier. She didn't seem interested in correcting her mistake and her lies. Even talking to other customers in store before dealing with my call.
