Señor Salsa — Restaurant in Thornton Township

It was too dark for me to take pictures and I was so hungry that I couldn't wait till I got home. I always wondered what the line was about everytime I passed this place coming down Halsted. I mean cars would be lined up in the street. I always said I would try them, but there was always a line. So on this night, coming pass and no line. I ordered 2 steak tacos and beans/rice. The guy that took my order was kind and knowledgeable. You order @ 1 window and pick up from the other one around the corner of the place. I waited but didnt wait too long. Got my tacos and went straight for them. They weren't big meaty tacos, enough for me to handle while driving. In my opinion they could've been a little bigger, but for 2 bucks and some change....They were good! I even ate them w/o the hot sauce provided. Because I'm not a fan of sweeter refried beans, there's were not my favorite. I like more of a savory seasoned taste. The rice wasn't bad, but not the best I'd ever had. I wouldn't order a dinner to avoid wasting time by getting beans and rice. Good tacos, great service...I will...

One of the best tasting Mexican restaurants in town and the servings are always filling. 2 problems that really irk me...

I would give this 5 stars if they were actually 24/7... It seems like they are 24 hours/whenever we feel like it. Because I actually like the people and the food (it's my favorite), I give them slack but advertising 24/7 and then being closed on RANDOM days and RANDOM nights will hurt them.

It's really only 5 stars at night when the two men are there. The big big guy is 5 stars and the other older gentleman who wears button up shirts with his chest mildly exposed...they are the best. It seems like if it's before late night and there are young men, the girls and the older woman there, the quantity of the food is random and the time it takes to cook SKY ROCKETS... I think they need more consistent help and these two points could hurt them. It's probably why they are not 24/7 all the time... It's just so annoying after working late and having to roll the dice on it OR just going there randomly and...

I HIGHLY ADVISE NOT TO ORDER FROM HERE::I ordered a meal through Uber and the people at Senor Salsa accepted it and then called me to say that they didn’t have tomales or fries. So I said ok and asked if they could just substitute the food items so I wouldn’t have to cancel the order and end up eating nothing while paying $14.50 (cost 16$). The person on the phone was very very rude, selfish, and seemed very aggressive towards me. Every response was very short spoken and he seemed unpleasant. He then hung up and said we couldn’t get any food and that we would have to cancel and kept saying we couldn’t get any food. We tried calling back but every time he would just hang up, not answer. Say we were playing around, and wouldn’t talk to us. Service was HORRIBLE and I was disgusted at how rude the server was. I didn’t end up getting any extra tacos or anything with my meal. Terrible,...
