Isaki is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants in the area, if not the best.
I've been to Isaki twice in the last 5 days and both times it was absolutely amazing. I had no idea this was a new sushi spot in town (much needed)!
Both times the service was great and the fish was so fresh. You can really tell that this sushi bar/restaurant knows what they're doing. The sushi is definitely more authentic than other sushi restaurants in the area (which I prefer) and less Americanized. Definitely my new favorite sushi spot.
Overall 10/10! And they have amazing happy hour prices!
I've tried the Cucumber salad (big enough for 2-3 people, very refreshing), the House salad (10/10),
Crispy Rice/Spicy Tuna - WOW. Has the most amazing sauce drizzled on top, one of the best crispy rice's l've ever had.
Both times I got the Ocean Roll (no rice - cucumber wrapped) one of the most flavorful cucumber wrapped rolls I've had.
The Hana Roll (no rice) always so fresh and tasty. I opted for no salmon on this the second time and it was Devine.
The 911 roll, simple and still exceeded my expectations.
Very impressed with this new sushi bar, would definitely recommend to anyone who loves...
Read moreComplete waste of money. I was served frozen edamame with gray, minced garlic thrown on top and it looked like it was months old. That was $8 down the drain & the salmon Skin salad had very old lettuce, wilted and that was $13 down the drain. I was very disappointed in the food there are 2 men cooking all the food by themselves and 1 woman serving the entire restaurant, seating people and Doing the transactions. Everybody has to wait three times as long because they are completely understaffed. Never going back. I wouldn’t mind waiting if the food was worth it, but the food was the biggest disappointment.. Tasteless and old. I could’ve went to the grocery store and bought some frozen and mommy for three dollars and served it frozen to myself! I also could’ve gone in a dumpster and found lettuce fresher than what they...
Read morewow, what a breath of fresh sushi. Here in Newbury Park we are somewhat limited to our choices. Having dined at all three places, it is nice to have a fourth. We went there tonight and had a variety of different sashimi , rolls and tempura. I can honesty say that there was just an little extra goodness in their preparation and attention to detail that I just don't quite see at some of the local spots here. Price was within reason and inline with other sushi restaurants. However, I had a fresh scallop and albacore that just melted in my mouth. The rolls were plentiful and seasoned perfectly. I know it will only be a matter of time for the word to get out and this place...
