Went there last night. Bad experience. We looked online before we went prices were very inexpensive. We knew they must have been outdated prices. Ordered from very battered menus. Prices were higher than on line. When we got the check, the prices were $2 and $3 more than the printed prices. My husband got a menu, thinking we did not see the prices correctly. The general manager followed him back to the table and wanted to know if there was a problem. We pointed out the price difference and he showed us a worn out sticker on the front of the worn out menu that stated that prices changed 1 year ago in March of 2023. He told us over and over again that the chips and bean dip is expensive and he needed to raise the prices. We thanked him, but he kept going on about the salsa and bean dip. We told him that the Mexican cuisine restaurant we usually go to charges much less. He said he didn’t think so. We called Yolandas and he asked how much the enchiladas were. Sure enough they are $5.00. About $4 less. He again went on about the chips and salsa. He didn’t think we got that Yolandas. We do and a choice of abot 8 different salsas. He did lower the price of our meal to the menu prices after he made a scene. He told us that menus are expensive to print but he was getting new menus in about 3 months. We didn’t ask, we didn’t care. He lost 2 diners and anyone else we can share this...
Read moreWe thought we'd give Los Dos Amigos a second chance of redemption. Very disappointing. We attempted to order two salads (out of the 4 choices) on the menu, Ensalada Sambrosa & Pescado ... both were not available. The Kitchen didnt have the ingredients. So we had only one choice, the salad supreme. So we ordered that. It was a $16 chicken salad on a tortilla shell. AND it was, like, the size of a HALF salad. For $16 bucks! And it was Iceberg lettuce! The "Chips & Salsa" came in Individual (tiny) bags that contained approximately 5 chips. The salsa "cup" was only filled halfway. Upon requesting additional Chips & Salsa, the waiter pointed to the little bag and I had to explain that THAT would not be sufficient. He rolled his eyes and was obviously "put out" by the request. Throughout the visit, we asked a few times for a refill on chips & salsa and it was obvious he was bothered by this and brought out a coworker to come see who we were. We then noticed the next salsa that he brought out was especially HOT as if they added something to it in retaliation. We could only hope it was safe to partake of it. The tiny cups of Soda were $3.75 each. Very disappointing. The quality was NOT worth the price. Go to the Alamo in Newbury Park instead. Dont waste your Time & Money at...
Read moreThe food here deserves 5 stars. However, the staff could be a lot friendlier to those of us with disabilities and require a Service Dog.
I came here with a friend because it's her favorite restaurant in Thousand Oaks. However, they didn't want to allow me and my service dog inside. When I offered proof that he is a trained and licensed by Ventura County service dog they still refused service. It wasn't until I threatened to call the police did the staff finally decide to call someone higher up on the org chart for guidance. Even then the best they wanted to offer was a seat outside in the heat. It took almost 15 minutes to finally convince the hosting staff to seat my friend, me and my service dog at a booth inside the restaurant. I wasn't even offered any discounts, deserts, future coupons, or even a free drink by the "manager" when he decided to grace our table when my frlend and I asked for our checks at the end of our meals.
If it wasn't for the fact this place REALLY DOES HAVE GOOD FOOD I wouldn't even consider giving this place a sing star. But the food truly is it's saving grace. My suggestion is to order your meal as take out and go eat it somewhere else that has a...
