So, I currently live in Orange County, and my girlfriend is in Thousand Oaks. The drive between the two places sucks. Whenever I'm in Thousand Oaks, I'm usually not impressed with the food options. But guess what? I finally found a place that I absolutely adore - Hot Muther *! Their chicken sandwiches with the special sauce are freaking amazing. They offer different heat levels and have a bunch of tasty stuff, like sliders, mac and cheese, fried pickles, coleslaw, French fries with this awesome seasoning, and more. I'm a huge fan of their food. Most places in TO (locals call Thousand Oaks that) close around 9 pm. If you want something good to eat, your options are limited to overpriced fast food or the grocery store. But if you want something quick, yummy, and visually appealing, this place is where it's at. We all know that we eat with our eyes, right? When I get hungry late at night or when I'm heading home from Orange County to Thousand Oaks, I swing by Hot Muther *. They're open until 12 am, thank goodness. Plus, they even have some games to play while waiting for your food. The people there are cool, and the owner is really chill. I like where he's going with his place. I often joke with him about how delicious his food is and how much I appreciate that they're open late. I'm not trying to flatter him, but I gotta let him know that his food is delicious and whatever he's doing is working. Some of us don't hit the hay at 6 pm, after all! If you're into tasty comfort food or if you've got the munchies after smoking a bit of weed, this place is perfect. It's super chill and always hits the spot. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to share this one because I really felt the urge to...

I don’t eat hot chicken often, but when I crave it, I crave it hard—like a pregnant lady on a mission. Living in Agoura, options are slim and I hate driving over the hill, so I was excited to see a Nashville-style spot open up nearby in Thousand Oaks.

I ordered the #7 Nashville Fry Up (medium spice), my wife got the #5 Tender Nuggets (country style, no heat), and my father-in-law went with the #4 Filthy Fries.

The chicken tenders were…fine. The seasoning was solid and the crust tasted great—crunchy and flavorful—but the breading didn’t stick to the chicken at all. As soon as I cut into it, the crust fell apart and ended up all over my fries. Not the worst thing flavor-wise, just messy and a little disappointing.

The Filthy Fries were exactly what they sounded like—over-the-top in a good way—but nothing mind-blowing. My wife’s country-style nuggets tasted like something we could’ve air-fried at home. Not bad, just not $15-worthy.

We were the only ones in the restaurant (Monday around 4pm), and it still took about 10–15 minutes for our food, which makes me wonder what the wait would be like during peak hours. Service felt a little off too—I tried to make small talk and it just landed awkwardly.

I want to give this place another shot because it’s close and has potential, but overall, it was just okay. Not a bad option if you’re in the area, but probably not worth a long...

I don’t say this lightly, but Hot Mother Clucker serves the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Yes, better than Dave’s Hot Chicken. Better than Howlin’ Ray’s. And the best part? It’s 100% Halal — so you can dig in with full confidence and zero compromise.

From the first bite, you know it’s different. The chicken is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and fried to crispy perfection without being greasy. Their spice levels are on point — flavorful without overwhelming the taste of the actual chicken. You can taste the quality and the care that goes into every piece.

The sandwich? Unreal. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, stacked with fresh pickles and their signature sauce that hits just right. It’s crave-worthy. And if you’re into tenders or wings, you’re in for a treat too — everything on the menu is consistently fire.

What really sets Hot Mother Clucker apart is that they don’t just ride the hype. They deliver. Every. Single. Time.

If you’re on the hunt for top-tier fried chicken that’s Halal, local, and legit — Hot Mother Clucker is it....

If you like chicken nuggets or chicken sandwiches, you will like this chicken. It's very tasty. It comes in various hot levels or plain. The onion rings were good, but the fries were nothing special and cold. They only have their special sauce, ranch, and ketchup as dipping sauce. Also, I would prefer if you could order nuggets and fries without a drink . The only way to get fries is as a combo. The service was slow, and they could have had more than one person in the front area. Being a newer restaurant, they are likely just getting into the groove of things. I will likely try it another time. The inside is small and they played country music. Again, delicious nuggets.
