My wife and I went to see Bruce Hornsby and I guess we didn’t read the small print. We left at the intermission. The opening band was an acoustic five piece band called YMusic… I don’t even know if there’s a genre for what they played. All due respect to the musicians they were very talented But the music was self-indulgent, unrecognizable and abstract. When Bruce Hornsby got to the stage, he played a half a dozen songs that were also unrecognizable to me and seemingly self indulgent since he mentioned on several occasions certain songs were by request; one of them a request from some persons brother-in-law.
I am grateful for one thing. The opening band mentioned after they played, Bruce would come out and play and then after intermission, they would collaborate on some music they wrote together. This allowed my lovely bride and I to leave at intermission without the fear of missing any music that I actually paid to Watch Bruce perform. Otherwise I would’ve stayed another hour or so with false hope of walking away satisfied. And my disappointment ultimately would’ve been much deeper than it is now.
This review is coming from a person who is also a musician with over a Terabyte of music ranging from Vivaldi to Metallica; Beethoven to Black Sabbath and who appreciates the vast parameters, music, talent, artistry and unique individuality All musicians have to offer. But at the end of the day, you shouldn’t forget about your fans; the people who pay to come and see you. We only know Bruce Hornsby so far as what he’s had to offer the public, what he has made available to us, the masses, which made us fans. So when we pay money to see him perform I think it’s a safe assumption that’s what one expects. Very...
Read moreWe used Stub Hub to purchase the tickets and tried to claim them the day of the show and kept getting an error when we tried to transfer them to Ticketmaster. We ended up going to the box office early to try and clear it up. They said they don't have access to Stubhub and that our two tickets were sold to two separate parties. They ended up giving us tickets that were further back and to the left of the stage. We were upset but grateful that we were still able to attend. We stood in line and got a mixed drink and then we went out to the balcony. It had a great view of the surrounding landscape. Nice place to just chill before the show. The walls are adorned with all kinds of different artwork so it's kind of like being at a museum too. The Usher's we're kind and friendly. They also let us take a look at the view from the balcony and the mezzanine which was pretty cool. I would still need my glasses which I forgot to bring in. The rows are about 50 seats long and the seats were comfortable enough with some room for people to get by. Sound quality of the show was great. I would definitely go back for another show even though they're almost 2 hours away from me. We also got a hold of StubHub and they're supposed to be refunding us for our...
Read moreCame here for the Dr Jordan Peterson show … for $200 a ticket, plus $8 parking, next time I will wait and watch the lecture on YouTube in my comfy recliner. We had Row E seats right in the middle… I’m 5’3 and at 125lbs my hubby is 6’2 180. The seats were horrible, tiny tiny narrow, uncomfortable, none reclining, no arm rest movement, do not go here is you have a bad back or neck or anything that hurts.. we were like sardines.
The check in/security point was an awful set up, they don’t have VIP access until you walk in… so you stand in line with everyone else, and wait as long as everyone else… usually there’s a VIP line., that’s why we paid like $50 more.
The bar was a joke, they let you take drinks into the theatre but there absolutely no drink/cup holders so you basically have to chug it or hold it and elbow the person next to you to sip it.
Then we get inside, there’s no structure like everyone walks like a herd of cows and is asking where their seats are and what door to take .. very unorganized. The content of the show was great but to pay this much these uncomfortable seats was horrible! Never going to a...
