Alejo’s Mexican Grill and Bar in Tishomingo is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve ever been to. We haven’t found another within 100 miles in the last year that even comes close. The portions are generous, the food is cooked to perfection every single time, and the flavors are balanced — never over-seasoned or too heavy.

The chips are light and crisp, the salsa tastes homemade and fresh, and the queso always comes out hot and delicious. Every entrée we’ve tried has been prepared excellently, from the classics to the house specialties. You can tell there’s real pride in the kitchen because the quality is consistent visit after visit.

What makes Alejo’s stand out even more is the value. You leave full and satisfied without feeling like you overpaid — which is rare these days. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming whether you’re just passing through or dining with family and friends.

Our waitress was super friendly and even though they were packed for lunch rush, our drinks, chips, and salsa were never empty. We started with queso at my five year old daughter's request, it was promptly brought to our table. I The queso is kid approved, and delicious! The salsa is fresh and tastes homemade. My grandmother had two hard tacos and an enchilada, and my 5 year old daughter and I had the beef fajitas, which were all fantastic! Terrible food even worse service. Waitress took my order. Waited a while for food. The food was wrong. Ordered 2 chimichangas with fajita steak. Both were full of watery ground beef. Disgusting. She asked me how it was, I told her it wasn't what I ordered, I want what I ordered. She threw her hands up shrugged and said "it's just one of those days" and walked away from my table. She never refilled out drinks. I had to give my daughter my drink. I will never step foot in this place again.
