Golden Dragon American Chinese — Restaurant in Toledo

An extremely horrifying experience the food was absolutely horrible. My dog wouldn't even eat it. The waiter was rude did not smile not once and didn't even say thank you for visiting her place of business. I'm from Michigan and I've eaten Chinese cuisine all over the country. It's hard for me to believe you can screw up shrimp fried rice. I asked for extra shrimp you could barely see them. The rice was bigger than the shrimp almost. I've been ordered chicken foo young the chicken was overdone it actually burnt in some places. The egg foo young taste it like it had sand in it a real gritty texture. And I paid almost $25 for this meal people be warned do not go to this restaurant they will disappoint you. I then called the restaurant and ask them could I bring my order back because I was so dissatisfied and of course she said no refund and I don't blame her I wouldn't want it...

Best tasting thing out of everything I ordered was the packaged crackers that came with my soup.

Everything is very bland and has no flavor other than from the soy sauce packets I added.

The seseme chicken sauce is bland. The rice that comes with it is very average, nothing special. The fried part is soggy and the chicken inside is hard and rough. Exactly the opposite of what you would want.

The egg rolls taste like nothing other than fried dough. The texture is soggy.

The wonton soup has a very basic, one-dimensional tasting broth. No depth or flavor. The wontons are soggy. The crackers that come with it are good. At least I could eat something.

Even if I paid half the price for this food, I would still be disappointed. And this is very expensive, so I was expecting so much more than average tasting food. But this food wasn't even average, it was...

The best options here in my opinion: Golden Dragon and Sesame Chicken. Great sauce, crunchy, and good portion. Decent prices, and quality ingredients. This is my go to Chinese American option in the Toledo Area. Also try the egg drop soup, egg rolls, fried shrimp, sesame tofu, Princess Beef, or if you're adventurous with your tastes try out their traditional Chinese menu, where you can get all kinds of delicious and wild flavors. They also have popcorn chicken (yum!). Great service, and you get free soup and an egg roll plus hot tea if you dine in. Good lunch deals as well. Almost forgot, orange chicken! I get that a lot with extra spicy peppers. If they could improve one thing, I'd want them to be able to make things even spicier, but it always seems pretty mild, but probably acceptable for American standards, just not mine.
