Star Diner — Restaurant in Toledo

I don’t wanna be one of those people that only writes a review when something bad happens but that’s what happening. I’ve been here many time and had great food great service so I think it would be unfair to rate it low because this situation was definitely an outlier. Me and my boyfriend sit down and get our drinks from someone who wasn’t our waitress and she was normal super sweet. Then our waitress comes over and just asks if we are ready we politely say we need a second and she just walks away. After about like 3 minutes she comes up to us and just say “ready?” In not a friendly way at all which I don’t really care as long as everything else it fine. He orders and tries to order something they are out of and she again abruptly says they are out. I order and then it’s not long until I get my food and my boyfriend gets his toast which he was still waiting on pancakes. I try my home fries that I sadly didn’t like and was gonna ask the waitress to order something else so I was hoping when she would come with his pancakes I could tell her. 15 minutes goes by she didn't come over once and he still doesn’t have his pancakes so I have to literally stop her which I hate doing and ask her for his pancakes she didn’t say a word and another waitress brought them and apologized. So then she comes over and I’m finally gonna order something else’s because it’s obvious I didn’t touch my food and she just sets the bill down. The pancakes didn’t get disconnected not even an apology. I’m a sever myself and I have never tipped under 20% I usually tip well over but I was sitting there feeling like I didn’t even wanna leave her a tip. Updated: Went to breakfast after my son got home from 3rd shift and I got oatmeal and white toast which was HORRIBLE (they put maple syrup and cinnamon in it etc which tasted nasty) my husband got an omelette breakfast and the eggs looked kind of runny but my son got pancakes which his was the only breakfast that looked decent... then we got the bill and it was $50.00 not including the 20% tip I always leave, I'm not exactly sure how the hell it got up to that much but I would've rather went to Kasllys and got better portions, better tasting and WAY cheaper price... we wont be back after that one.. that was an eye opener... I've never paid $50.00 + tip for a quick breakfast and a not so great tasting one at that. Shame on them. That was ridiculous! Sorry just not worth our hard earned money. Especially since I knew the time before that was good food. It was a little expensive not $50 but I thought I could handle all around.... nope not worth it.

Since I recently had surgery, decided to Doordash breakfast this morning. Found all the usual fares on menu, except the restaurant was not taking "comments" today, such as.... I did ham and cheese omelet, menu mentions no hash browns or toast but you could add them. Added hash browns and went to put "white toast" in comments and that feature was turned off. So we did not get toast but 2 sides of hashbrowns. Then ordered junior burger with fries. No mention on menu that fries come with it but I knew they did. Ordered fries as a side and got 2 orders. Could not leave a comments of how burger should be cooked or that we did not want lettuce or tomato. Thirdly, ordered star special. Could leave a note that I wanted med eggs, got scrambled. Not choice of meat able to be left, got bacon wanted sausage. No toast at all. This was ridiculous. Why are comments turned off when ordering.
