I cannot say enough good things about El Papas and everyone who works there. My father passed away unexpectedly at the beginning of May and this restaurant was located across the street from the funeral home we used, so when we were making the arrangements for the service we decided to check out the restaurant as a possible reception venue since it would be very convenient for our guests.
Our first time in, we were greeted and served by Adrianna who treated us like family. It really felt like we had been friends forever and she took the best care of anything we needed. Her service was some of the best I have ever received and to top it off, the food was delicious and freshly made. We had a variety of food, but the big hits were the enchiladas (not pictured) and the torta ahogada. The salsas and aguas frescas (especially the maracuyá) were also super yummy. After approving of the food, we spoke to Adrianna about the possibility of hosting our reception lunch there and she introduced us to her husband Jose who gave us more information and options.
Once we had an idea of what we wanted, he gave us a quote and we told him we would get back to him since we had more errands to run. Later that evening, I got a call from the owner, Jackie, who said she wanted to offer us a discount on the price Jose has given us because she understood what it was like to lose a parent and all that goes in to planning a funeral. She also told me she wanted the community of Tolleson to know that the restaurant is proud to be a part of the community and wanted to help serve its people during their time of need. I was floored. Her genuine generosity moved me, and we agreed on using the location for our reception.
The day of the funeral, we arrived and to our surprise there was a flower arrangement for my father on behalf of the restaurant, another beautiful and unexpected touch. The service was too notch as usual, the food was delicious, the beers were cold, the music was perfect and most importantly all of our guests had a great time celebrating the life of my dad.
Overall, words can't express the gratitude I feel to everyone at El Papas who allowed us to end such a hard day with a beautiful memory. It will definitely be a staple in our lives from now on and I can't recommend them enough. In this day and age, it is rare to feel valued as a customer, but the El Papas crew truly goes above and beyond to make sure it's patrons feel...
Read moreI recently dined at El Papas Mexican Restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant specializes in homemade Mexican food, and you can truly taste the authenticity in every dish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and felt right at home. The service was exceptional—our server was attentive, friendly, and quick to make sure we had everything we needed.
One of the highlights of our visit was meeting Jackie, the owner. She took the time to interact with all of us, making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. Her passion for the food and the restaurant was clear, and it added a personal touch that made the experience even more special.
If you’re looking for delicious, homemade Mexican cuisine with great service and a personal touch, El Papas is the place to go. I’ll...
Read moreI have driven past this place so many times and had never stopped in until today. My son has been here with his friends and mentioned it was good. We always said we would stop in sometime but hadn't. Today we did. I am so glad that we did! Not only was the food good but the portions were huge and fairly priced. Everyone was so friendly and kind, they were so genuine. Don't get me wrong, I've encountered nice people at other establishments but I have never felt so welcomed like we were at this place! I had a carne asada torta and my mom had a torta ahogada. They were so kind to surprise my mom with singing happy birthday and Las Mañanitas along with a chocoflan that was so yummy. I truly appreciate an establishment that actually cares about their customers experience. We will...
