Roma23 was a spontaneous find off I-10 for an early dinner. We were very satisfied with full, happy tums. The service was friendly and patient—we ordered the Heaven pizza which I liked more than my wife as it was fairly sweet with the fig jelly. She would have enjoyed it more with a savory balance to the sweetness. We both loved the arugula and the puffy crust on the pizza. We also ordered a Caesar salad with a side of grilled chicken and really enjoyed that too. The decor was pleasing and my wife took some photos for the review. Several small things kept this from being a 5 star review: *The music was really loud, which made the environment feel more like a bar than a restaurant *the gelato was $7 and was described as accompanied by a biscuit and fresh berries—it arrived without those. When we asked our server about it she said she didn’t know why it said that as it didn’t come that way. *our change due back from the $45 bill was $14.30. Our server brought $14 and a receipt and clearly announced, ā€œHere’s your $14.ā€ I didn’t notice until she’d walked away and didn’t really mind, but it’s the principle of the thing. My wife tends to be a little more paranoid—her questions were: ā€œHow many times a shift do you think she does that? Do they All do it?ā€ Reminds me a little too much of mistakes with grocery store sales prices that studies have shown happen WAY more than 50% of the time in their favor. Not such a small amount of money over time. I don’t know what the change issue was about, whether poor counting (and an accidentally unbalanced till), or an idea that people’s coin change doesn’t count anymore, or actually a small scam that will pay off for someone’s piggybank over time. But bottom line, I’d like my full change back please! My tip and review are determined by all of the above. Otherwise, good food, nice atmosphere and attentive service—thank you.

Went in this Saturday around 9pm since kitchen closed at 10pm. Worst mistake ever since the place is small inside and they had a DJ and band setting up. The hostess said the wait was 45min but then kindly said everyone there was waiting for the band and did not think tables would become available so we can sit at the bar. She never said there was a wait list to get a table. We chose the bar ... the bartenders all 4 of them were too busy to even make eye contact that we sat and waited around to order another drink for a long while and decided to just leave. Horrible service took 15 min just to get the check. Parking lot is small as well so expect to park across the street. The $20 charcuterie board was the worst. Presentation was decent however the most basic items. Which is why we decided not to order a pizza. The watermelon tequila drink was just ok. I recommend driving up to wigwam specifically Papa Pauls for a date night with good pizza and excellent drinks. This place looks like a bar that happens to serves pizza not restaurant.

We had a very pleasant experience at Roma 23. The space was well managed, the parking lot was accessible, and the style was very neat. The food was remarkable! We started with a caesar salad, which was made with a spring mix. The dressing was flavorful, and the croutons added that extra bit of crunch that ever caesar needs. For our entrees we ordered the Ajillo shrimp and the Heaven pizza. This Ajillo Shrimp dish was one of the best pasta’s I’ve ever had in my entire life (and I’ve had a lot of pasta!). The shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the pappardelle was done to perfect al dente. We would come back just for that. The Heaven pizza was great too! The arugula was a little much, but the flavor combinations really made it a complete pie. If we were to come back, I’d probably try one of the other pizzas on the menu. Overall, it was quality and timely service. The restaurant itself was a little loud, so be prepared for that, but the taste of the food brought this place to 5-stars alone.

Came in with a 3 top, around 12:45. Started with the buffalo mozzarella, nothing special. Tasted just like the bolognese sauce with a habanero sauce. The bread was tough to chew, basically last nights leftovers served the next day. Truly sad, for it was just myself and maybe two separate parties there at the time. Could have used a bit more herbs, and oil on the cheese. Then we ordered the Magherita pizza, and pepperoni. The dough was at least way fresher tasting than the bread. But the flavor was still off. The basil was as well par, due to not much freshness to it as I bit into it. Now to the pepperoni pizza. Really ordered it for my kid, but saw that with every bite he took it was just grease dripping out of it. Sad to see. For if that’s what I wanted then I would have gone to little Cesar’s. Really was looking forward to trying the flight of gelato, but with even the dull atmosphere, and let alone the hostess/Server not really attentive, just wanted to leave. I had high hopes for this place, for I heard so much of the opposite things of what I experienced. That it made me bummed out and really killed the experience for me. So we all left. Hope to be able to give this place a better review before I head out of town. I did still leave her a better tip. For it’s not her fault, should be something that was talked about as a pre shift conversation. As well as something that should be explained to the F.O.H on how to be more productive during a dead lunch rush, to help out for the dinner service. Again something that management/ Chef should have said as a pre shift talk. Hope you guys do...

My Husband, son, and I went here last night. The food was exceptional! Everything we had was so good. The wings were, according to my son, ā€œthe best wings I’ve ever had!ā€ We ordered the Heaven Pizza on cauliflower crust and it was HEAVEN! My son got the Ajillo Shrimp pasta and he LOVED it! I got the When in Roma flight and liked them all except the orange one. My son found a piece of one of those copper scrubby things you would use to clean pots in his pasta. We understand things happen but when we brought it to the attention of our server, she was kinda dismissive about it. No apologies, just kinda, oh well. Our experience was mostly great until the very end when we went to pay. No receipt was brought to the table, just a tablet to pay, which we did. Thankfully my husband asked for a receipt and saw we were charged for 2 of the Heaven pizza’s. We brought it to the attention of our server and she brought back 18.00 (the cost of the pizza) but failed to return the tax and tip on that amount which was another 5.00ish dollars. My husband brought that up and she did return it but it left a sour taste, you know. I hope this was just a one time accident but what started out as our new favorite place, because the food was really so good, ended on a bad note. There is an up charge for using credit…just work that into the cost of the food, don’t add a surcharge. And they charge extra $1.00 for a 1oz. cup of ranch (without letting you know) that wasn’t even full. We spent 170.00 for 3 of us for dinner, a little high - but worth it for the delicious food. Loved it, but wanted to share the good and...
