On a hot Saturday late afternoon, I rode up here from Cypress on some beautiful back roads & ordered the Milanesa sandwich, Sprecher honey root beer, & a Pionono pastry for dessert.
Fantastic flavors of the juicy fried steak in the sandwich along with lettuce, tomato, onion & a light smattering of a mayo-like spread on a butter toasted bread roll.
Best of all is the fresh & flavor-full chimichurri on the side that pairs perfectly with the rich steak flavor.
The fries that came with the sandwich were steak fry style but thinner, served hot, not greasy, & just the right amount of seasoning on them - very nice pairing when you put some on the sandwich as well.
I had skipped breakfast & lunch so I would be hungry, but even so, I could not finish the whole sandwich, fries, & drink; everything was very filling & delicious.
Still have the Pionono pastry to have as a late night snack when I finally stop feeling full!
Very bright, casual, open atmosphere, lots of parking.
Be aware that there is only one entrance into the strip mall area & that is turning right from Kuykendahl road heading South/East; if heading North/West you will need to U turn past Che Tano & come back the other direction, you cannot turn left into the parking lot.
Clean building, fantastic food, generous portions, quick & friendly service.
Get extra chimichurri if you can - such good flavor pairing with the...
Read moreFinally able to have lunch at Che Tano! We ordered 2 different pizzas and they were the best! Crust is to die for, and the sauce and toppings were really good. We also ordered to go some beef and chicken empanadas, will have to wait for dinner to try, but they smell heavenly. We also ordered an apple and Bavarian crème dessert empanadas and they were sooo good! They also came with a caramel like sauce that I could eat all alone, it was that good and creamy. Definitely coming back!! Update: Had the empanadas and they were so flavorful!! (I usually do not get empanadas because in the past, at other restaurants, they have been made with thick dough and a minuscule amount of filling.) That being said, Che Tano’s empanadas were filled with beef and chicken, and the dough was thin and crispy. I was really surprised at just how good they were, I can’t wait to go back and try some more items on their menu! There is only one entrance and exit, via Kuykendahl, but don’t pass up this food gem!! It...
