Definitely worth the drive! It’s right off 249 in Tomball so if you live nearby, I would definitely recommend it. Even if you don’t and want some good barbecue, make the drive lol there wasn’t a line 🙌🏻. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. Dino ribs are only on Sundays! Hit the link and go check out their page, they have a lot more options. @Old Tomball Bbq #HoustonBarbecueSpots #HTX #Texas #HoustonEats #OldTomballBBQ

Went on a Sunday. The place has the feel of authentic 'hole in the wall' BBQ shack. I got a 3 meat plate with 2 sides. The brisket was above average. Moist and the fat melted in your mouth. Had decent flavor but definitely benefitted from some sauce, which was warmed up and already on the table. The ribs were good. One of mine was from the end and was a little dry and not a lot of meat. The other one had plenty of meat. The meat was tender and came right off the bone, but again was a little lacking in flavor without some added sauce. The spicy sausage was a letdown. It looked really good, but like the ribs was lacking in flavor, even with the jalapenos. The mac and cheese was warm and creamy, with lots of cheese sauce, but nothing else. So, it was kind of plain. Kids will love it though. The fries were really good, made to order, so they came out hot and were well seasoned, but they don't have ketchup in bottles. So, you're forced to tear and squeeze little packets of ketchup, which I hate! The wife got potato salad and fried okra. Both of those were decent, but she wanted ranch for the okra and they didn't have any. As for the service, everyone was friendly enough, but they have a sign that says to leave your trays on the table, but they don't clean the tables quickly enough, and we saw several frustrated customers trying to find a table inside, because they were all dirty. They have an outdoor seating area, but I can't speak for that part. Price ended up being a little over $40, for 2 people. All in all, nothing about this place was bad, but nothing really makes me want to go back at that price. There are better BBQ places in the area.

If you are looking for a hole in the wall place to eat at, this is it. Need a place that is rustic and no frills, this is it. And unfortunately, that was it. My partner and I ordered 2 dishes, the 2 meats and 2 sides which was about ~$15.00. We got the sausage, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, beans and fries- bread was also included. To drink, we got a lemonade and a bottle of Dr. Pepper. We were unsure about what to order, but the staff wasn't offering up any help either. When paying almost $40.00, we asked the gal for a cup with no ice and then she proceeded to go and scoop some. My partner said it louder so that she heard twice and finally she just gave us the cup. Now to the food, when it came to taste, let's just say the fries were more seasoned than the rest of the food. The brisket was extremely fatty and charred. The sausage was basic store quality and the ribs were alright, but the quantity was smaller than we'd like. Mac and cheese seemed box made and the beans weren't tasteful at all. The BBQ sauce on the table was very tangy and acidic, definitely not something we would indulge in again. Ultimately, we were very disappointed with the customer service, food and quantity. We were recommended to try this place by friends that loved it, but unfortunately that wasn't our experience. We will not be returning and this was a DNF (did not finish) from us.

I came on a whim, on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Located off the Parkway, it’s a small cute traditional BBQ spot. The outside is adorned with piles of firewood, super authentic looking Texan BBQ spot. Inside, the spices and herbs are pungent in the most delicious way possible. Real wood all the way around, gives it a cozy feel. Bathrooms are outdoors, with a really quaint and scenic outdoor seating area. I loved my experience here especially since there are not many spots like these in the inner Houston area. The food itself was divine, I ordered the 3 meat and 2 side plate and it was enough food to feed me and my partner. We tried the spicy sausage, brisket, mac & cheese, and fries. The sausage was snappy in texture and spicy, juicy and filled with gobs of cheddar cheese and chunks of jalapeño. I’m not a big fan of cheese filled sausage but it was delicious! The brisket, oh my, the star of the show, it was absolutely phenomenal. The crust on the outside coupled with the smoky flavor of the meat elevated this slab of brisket. It was the perfect cook and texture, juicy and not dry or tough at all! It was A+++, please try the brisket if you visit. Mac and cheese was delicious, gooey and thick however, it did lack just a tad bit of salt. Overall the food and atmosphere was an awesome experience....
