I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I was quite upset leaving the restaurant. First, the positive, the food we ordered was good and plentiful. The clear soup was hot; the sushi was fresh; and my veggie dish was very tasty and crunchy. Second, the service was impersonal and rather robotic; however, that was not the issue. What embarrassed me occurred when the server rushed out of the restaurant to tell me I didn't leave a tip when, in fact, I left a cash tip of a little more than 20 percent of the total bill, which I think was generous given the basic service I received. I have never had this happen to me. To add to it, I was already getting into my car as the server yelled to me from close to the building so others could hear. I explained that I left a cash tip, and the other server picked up the bill. The server ran into the building after I explained what happened. I didn't know what to do, so I waited to see if he would return. He did return and gave a thumbs up. He never came to the car to apologize. I called the restaurant when I got home. I asked for the owner, but I'm not sure I even spoke to the owner since the person stated he would tell the owner what had happened. Read moreWe have been coming to BLUE for years, as our go to place when we are down at the shore in Normandy. However, at our last visit, we waited over an hour to be seated for our group of two after we were told it would be 20 minutes. There were multiple groups of 3 and 4 seated ahead of multiple groups of two. Also, one of the bus boys sat two of his friends who just walked right in ahead of us. When we asked, we were told we were next to be seated, although when the table was available and cleaned, the hostesses still did nothing to sit us for over 10 minutes, until I complained again. We then waited over an hour for our food as well, and even though our server apologized to both tables next to us, he never apologized to us. Then 3 hours into our dinner while we had an infant at home we were trying to get back to, we did not get comped anything. But it’s not just the Specials that shine; the simpler items on the menu are equally stellar. The Baby Bok Choi Sautéed in Garlic is a must-try —perfectly packed with flavor! The Live Scallops are indeed life-affirming. I found that the appetizers set the tone and can also be ordered in combination as a medley on their own to form a fantastic meal.
The music they play is incredible too! My partner and I enjoyed using our Shazam App to identify song titles and new music artists. It was so fun, and now we have some new music to enjoy at home and work.
