A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Tonopah

Sadly, i feel forced to write this. 1st off, the food is great and just like any other A&W I've eaten at. That being said, the quality of service just plan sucks! There's more to service than just being polite. I've now eaten there twice. Im only a part-time resident for work. Both visits my order has been incorrect. 1st time, i had to reoeat my order several times because this lady just couldn't understand what i wanted/ didn't want on my burger, and they still messed it up. This 2nd time, i ordered a shrimp basket with a side of onion rings, and i upsized the drink. The lady proceeded to tell me what came with it and then staired at me 🤷‍♂️. I told her i knew what the order consisted of and did not know what she was asking me (think that her pause was her waiting for some answer). She then repeated herself and then added that i get a choice of sauce, which i said i didn't want sauce. Looking confused, she input my order. My order was to go, so i left without checking things out....my mistake apparently because i did not get the coleslaw and fries that come in a "basket." I might also add that it's supposed to be 16 shrimp and not 12 that i received. Both times I've been there, I'vee been served by different people, but they all look at you as if you're talking a different language. I basically paid $17 for 12 shrimp, 5 onion rings, and a coke 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. They seem confused when you tell them exactly what you want, or it just takes too long for...

Went there cause my daughter loves root beer. Decided she wanted cheese frys and that I’d get my husband a coney dog. Was rang up for coney dog and added $3.90 for the combo (makes sense) then added a medium chili cheese fries with no coney sauce for an extra $2.70? So $2.70 extra for the cheese my daughter wanted????? When I realized and asked them to fix it as I did not order a separate fry and thought $2.70 seemed outrageous for a side of cheese I was given a bit of hard time. They ended up refunding my purchase back to my card but said they couldn’t give me anything proving they refunded it?(weird?). They then re rang me up for the coney cheese dog and combo then .69 for cheese which seemed way more like it was supposed to be in the first place as all my 12 yo wanted was cheese on her fries!!! As you can imagine I was given lots of attitude from staff there especially the older lady working. I heard her tell the cook to make sure he gave me a small fry. As I’m writing this review the following day I realize the combo they rang me up for was a medium fry….. very unprofessional there is nowhere to call to let management or owners...

I'm writing this review because of a lot of the terrible reviews left previously. Do not expect Michelin-star quality food here or at any fast-food place. But I have every reason to expect a clean environment, hot food, and decent service. A&W exceeded all those expectations.

My onion rings were not the best I've ever had, but they're the best fast-food onion rings I've had in a long while. I made a special request on my burger and it came out as ordered, hot, and in a timely fashion. And A&W rootbeer is frickin' awesome.

A previous review mentioned smoke from the casino (the restaurant shares a building with a casino, seemingly like every other business in Tonopah). We were sitting only one table from the double doors the smoke would have to enter and we smelled no smoke. There is a faint smoke odor in the lobby but, unless you have very short legs, you can get through the lobby in four or five steps. The staff was friendly and helpful.
